For all Ricardo’s accomplishments, he was still a humble and kind man. I met him several years ago at the hunting shows. We sent each other pictures from our hunts. He wanted to hunt Shiras moose with me. He and I submitted several bids for the Colorado statewide moose tag over the years but never got it. We stopped bidding lately, partly due to a nagging medical issue that was giving him trouble. I once suffered from the same issue but got past it. He was still trying to get better but wasn’t able to hunt much lately. We texted and talked from time to time, comparing notes. I always encouraged him and prayed for him. I was shocked to learn of his passing. RIP, my fellow hunter. You gave back more than you took.
