If I owned a classic double I would want the detail to look like this picture! It was posted here on AH and comes up from time to time as the server selects pictures to display!

When I took my bull last year he was with two others! He and the next oldest and biggest bull had no concern about the humans in their area. But the third bull always hung back a ways. This engraving says it all.

By the way the picture was posted by Lorenzo Gamba.

I agree Charlie, beautiful!

Lorenzo is a gentleman & FIRST rate engraver. A pleasure to do business with.

Every African hunter dreams of owning and hunting with a classic double rifle and the one pictured is so pretty I'd be afraid to take it in the field. At the end of WWII my grandfather traded two cartons of cigarettes and some candy bars for a heavily engraved gold and sliver drilling piece, side by side 16 gauge and a 9.3 below. That gun is so beautiful it will never see the field again and its to valuable to hang over the fire place, so it just sits in the gun safe to be oiled and remind me of my grandfather. I'd love a double rifle but make mine a Plain Jane.

Art an inherited rifle like that is priceless. Hope to see it someday! I will most likely never own a double but I can dream.

Ah yes we can all imagine ourselves in an old canvas tent with an oil lamp burning. Our double rifle leaning up in the corner of our tent and smoke billowing from our pipe as we take time to write down our memories of the day's hunt. Classic Africa maybe not reality!
Regards,
Philip

I have no idea the shipping cost from here to Costa Rica. I can do my research on shipping and get back with you later today.

I didn't see your request re: ship co’s. My last shipment was 2023. Quotes from SBS Logistics ($1,198), Badger Cargo ($1,184 - used them) & AHG Trophy Shippers ($1,746). AHG owner's an asshole so wouldn't have used him anyway. Eastern Cape - Houston, TX, so your mileage may vary. NEVER use Karl Human Taxidermy aka Wild Africa Taxidermy on Eastern Cape. Trophies arrived shattered with no padding/packing material.
