This is a rare opportunity to acquire an exceptional Heym Model 88B Deluxe with two perfectly regulated barrel sets470 Nitro Express and 375 H&H Magnum—complete with premium optics, ammunition, components, and accessories. This is a true “turn-key” safari package with every upgrade a discerning double-rifle shooter would want.

Rifle & Factory Upgrades

This rifle features an extensive list of factory enhancements, including:

  • Deluxe engraving pattern
  • Exhibition-grade walnut stock
  • Extended bottom tang
  • Hinged pistol-grip cap with spare front sight
  • 1 standing / 3 folding rear leaves on both barrel sets
  • German claw mount & quick-detach rings on the 375 H&H barrels
  • 24k gold barrel bands
  • Articulated front trigger
  • Tuned triggers (approx. 5.5 lbs & 6.5 lbs — British standard)
  • Mercury recoil reducer installed in stock
  • Barrel length: approx. 25" each
  • Length of pull: 15"
  • Weight with 470 NE barrels: approx. 10 lb 11 oz

Optic

Mounted on the 375 H&H set is one of the finest dangerous-game optics available:

  • Schmidt & Bender 1–4x Illuminated DG Scope
  • Custom quick-detach rings
  • German claw mount system

This combination offers true dangerous-game capability with fast, repeatable zero.

Regulation by Ken Owen

Both barrel sets were professionally regulated by the late Ken Owen, one of the world's most respected authorities on regulating double rifles.

375 H&H regulated for:

  • Barnes 300 gr TSX
  • Hornady Softpoint Boat Tail
  • With four powders: H4350, VV133, VV135, VV150
    (ideal for long-term supply flexibility)

470 NE regulated for:

  • Woodleigh 500 gr Softs
  • Woodleigh 500 gr Traditional Solids
  • Using IMR 3031 and VV133

Target data (included) shows superb accuracy and tight regulation.

Ammunition & Components Included

A complete hunting and practice loadout is supplied:

Loaded Ammunition

  • ~25 rds Woodleigh 500 gr Softs (470 NE)
  • ~25 rds Woodleigh 500 gr Solids (470 NE)
  • ~25 rds Barnes TSX loads (375 H&H)
  • ~25 rds Hornady Softpoint loads (375 H&H)

Components

  • Woodleigh Softs and Solids for 470 NE
  • Barnes TSX for 375 H&H
  • Multiple bags/boxes of Norma and Winchester brass
  • Additional components as photographed

Everything you need for load development, practice, and hunting is included.

Condition

According to the original owner’s heirs, the rifle was used on one safari before his passing.
Condition is 98%+, with only minor handling marks consistent with a single hunt. Metal, wood, bores, and regulation remain exceptional.

Why This Package Is Unique

  • Current Heym lead times: 2–3 years
  • A comparably equipped new rifle would cost significantly more
  • This example is fully validated, regulated, documented, and ready for immediate use
  • The 375 H&H barrels provide mild recoil and affordable practice compared to exclusive reliance on 470 NE loads
  • With both calibers, you are prepared for the entire African game spectrum—from duiker to elephant

  • Located in Western Wisconsin, ~45 minutes from Minneapolis/St. Paul
  • Available for in-person inspection
  • Out-of-state buyers: shipment to your FFL as required
  • Shipping via FedEx Ground, fully insured and tracked

That is as complete a package as anyone could want!!!

If it were a matched pair, I'd be all over it.....

Kidding of course. That is a swell set up--so nice in fact that it must pain you to sell it at all. Thanks for all the disclosure, gracing us with pictures, and GLWS!

You know when you want to add a bit of pizazz and check for grammar, you use AI, right? Well I should have read the copy a bit better. Ken Owen is quite alive, probably no one is happier about that than Ken. I have no idea why AI decided to say he was “late” and I have no idea why I didn’t notice that sooner.

I repeat, Ken is not dead. lol :ROFLMAO:

Rock you always have the nicest doubles!! GLWS!! This is no doubt all you need for Africa!

Sir, I think I have been writing to you about the purchase of the HK 639 rifle under an email "Tt Jake." If this is you, then I am truly interested. I am just trying to verify identify. Tt Jake is asking for a cash transaction. No disrespect intended, Just trying to verify who I am talking to. Thank you. Respectfully. Dan

Hey my friend, I am returning to SA for a Cape Buffalo hunt in June 26. My outfitter has suggested Highveld but I have read some poor reports. Wondering how satisfied you were with your mounts from them? Thanks in advance.
Finally back to somewhat normal I missed reading the messages and posts
