Scoping out African hunting to see how I might do it. I'm interested in seeing the land and taking a few animals. I enjoy the hunt/stalk, and eating game where possible. I won't be a trophy guy, as at this stage in life, as I have no room in which to display mounts. So far I have been mostly an upland bird hunter and waterfowler, and tournament skeet shooter. Interested in traditional firearms and a shooter since age 4. I do a little gunsmithing as an amateur - have started to re-barrel a couple of old Mausers. Have good machine shop and learning gunmaking skills. I own a decent stable of traditional rifles: .416 Rigby (CZ550 American), .35 Whelen, 7x57, .30-06, and soon a .280 Rem, maybe Ackley Improved, maybe not. Reloader of rifle and shotgun cartridges since early '60's. Age 72 and in good shape. Aviator for more than 50 years. Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. Retired from career managing large custom projects making whole vehicle test systems for the automotive and aviation industries
