FREE cancellation hunt in SA with AH member

This is a very generous offer. Wish I could have thrown my name in the hat but I’m already booked for Africa in August. I will say that I’ve had the pleasure of having a couple of conversations with @Scott CWO and you couldn’t ask for a nicer fella to share a hunt camp with,
Thanks Shaun! It was fun talking to you at SCI.

Very generous of you. Best of luck to who gets it hope you guys have a great trip and looking forward to the report!

Just sent you a PM. I can do my own air fare and trophy fees and meet you in Africa.

Retired American military guy living in Germany working in defense.

cheers,
Seth

That is quite generous of you Scott, if it would’ve been on the shoulders of my hunt in August I would’ve jumped all over it!

Seth, by chance, are you located at Stuttgart?

Very nice offer Scott. I would throw my hat in the ring except I will be hunting in Cameroon at the same time. Good luck and I am sure you will find a great person to join you.

This sounds like a fun hunt with a great group of guys.

Will any photo or video people be along for the Rhino hunt?

@LimbNoMo didn’t you have to cancel your first trip? This might be a great opportunity to jump in with a very experienced group. Just the stories from Scott would be worth it

Hadn’t planned on a videographer but we will take plenty of photos. Will be fun to see a rhino up close.

Wow, so much more interest than I figured. Still getting back to people. I will talk to all or at least email or WhatsApp the Europeans.

Definitely video it if you can. It’s a very unique experience and showing other hunters and non hunters the veterinary side of it can really open the door and conversation regarding the African conservation model and intertwining of Hunting/Conservation.

A Rhino’s hide has to be one of the coolest feeling leathers. It’s very soft, squishy. I describe it as almost sponge like

I’ve never wanted to poke a rhino until today.

Hahaha, glad I enabled someone.

I know there are a few others on here who were also surprised by the feeling of the hide. I've talked about it with more than one person and I think we were all thinking something more along the lines of what an elephant or hippo's hide felt like.

Hey everyone! Incredibly short notice but the guy I picked to go just sent me an email in the middle of the night and cancelled for personal reasons and we are set to leave on Tuesday!!

If anyone wants to jump on a flight to Joberg on Tuesday, overnight with us in Joberg and then fly to Kimberley with us on the morning of the 19th, the spot is open AGAIN! We will hunt seven days June 20-26, fly from Kimberly back to Joberg on the morning of the 27th and later that same day, back to the USA.

The daily rates are FULLY PAID and the hunt includes a FREE kudu of any size and an ADDITIONAL trophy fee credit of $1945!!!! It would be great if someone could jump on this and hunt a few more animals as well. I can send a trophy fee list. Tips would run about $2500 for the PH and staff. This hunt is 2x1 so with four guys, we will be split into two groups but can mix it up each day if you want? Two rhinos will be darted on this trip so you could see that happen as well. Let me know ASAP!

You can still bring a rifle if you have or can get a currently dated Form 4577 or rent a rifle from the outfitter.

The guy that cancelled was getting the free kudu and was going to shoot a bontebok, which requires a special permit to import to the USA but it is no problem if you don't want the bontebok. Bontebok are more expensive than several other animals, I think $1950, and the permit should not be a problem. A blesbok is very similar and cheaper if that matters? As I said, there are lots of other animals available as well.

Let me know ASAP by direct message if you can go. Shawn at Gracy Travel handles our arrangements but you can book airlines direct instead or use another agent. You can get a SAPS firearm permit on arrival but we need to get you an Invitation Letter from the outfitter quickly if you want to bring your own rifle.

Wow...again. Very generous offer from one of our most experienced forum members. I want to hunt with Scott sometime...somebody needs to get up and go!
