To answer a question asked twice now, I don't know the exact round count. But my read is that it's very low and never involved corrosive ammo.

Nice rifle! I have a few Zastava builds, mostly Interarms Mark X, Whitworth Express, a Remington 798, and a surplus Yugo M48A in this same caliber. They're all great guns, as I'm sure yours is as well.

Just out of curiosity, there should be a four digit number stamped on the right side of the receiver; just forward of the bolt handle. Sometimes this number is obscured by the stock, but it will tell you the month and year of manufacture.

GLWS! :)

I am glad to see we have a rare Zastava expert. I shot and seen plenty of zastava, many of my friends have them!

I have a question just out of curiosity.

Does Remington 798 (known to be zastava barreled action) have same 4 digit number stamped for date of production?

That's a great question; i don't think I've bothered to look. I'll check it out when I get back home in a few days.
