This is a Siamese Mauser converted to 45-70. This was a very common conversion in the 1970s-80s. All the hard and expensive work has been done on this one. Tapped and drilled and has scope bases. 3-position Winchester style safety, Timney trigger at about 3.5# and its threaded 5/8x24 with a 18" barrel. Floor plate engraved "Hog Stomper" (not done by me). Has some handling marks and dings here and there and a discoloration in blue finish around action from where a wheeler style rear sight used to be attached. Have more pics just message with phone number to have them sent. $1250 Shipped to FFL

Thank you it is a neat rifle for sure. Interesting and different and you can shoot full bore 45-70 loads similar to 458 win mag loads. The only reason I am selling is to fund the build of a 500 smith and wesson mag on the same action that is almost complete

A mate had one back in the early 80s. He was loading for it one day using trapdoor loads. While he was out of the room I loaded up 5 rounds using Ruger No1 data and put them in my pocket.
We went out to his range to shoot a few gongs. His loads were carry pleasant but imagine his surprise when I loaded up the full power loads and he touched one off. Really lit him up and he wanted to know WTF happened as I was laughing my guts out. When I told him he was not amused but ended up loading full power all the time after that.

LOP is around 14" maybe touch over. I shot about 20 full power loads I use in my No 1 and shot about a 2" group at 100 without even trying hard. That is the only time I shot it. Fed and ejected just fine

Hello! I saw your post from last year about a missing crate from your hunt in Moz. I am curious how that all turned out? We (my fiancé and I) also hunted in Moz in 2024 and the trophies are being shipped with Hunters Services Limitada. We have some concerns on whether we will get the trophies home or not. May I ask who you hunted with?
