I’ve had a bird gun built in Spain and it’s ready. The importer’s website declares a $1K gun cost $1800 to import currently? The gun maker suggested about $1K in import fees back in September. This is about a $15K shotgun. How much can I expect to pay? Anyone have an opinion? Thx Hutch

I know this is an apples to oranges comparison; but I shipped a pre-64 Super Grade .300H&H to Australia last year by way of a broker and I believe it was $1,400 shipping and broker fees.

Shop around. Most of the fee goes to the importer's profit. I've imported several shotguns from the UK and paid a little or a lot, depending on who did the importing.

I paid $1440 to import a $3300 shotgun from London to the U.S. in 2016. I used Griffin and Howe as the U.S. importer.

As it turned out, the final import fees were only $1100. I didn’t ask any questions.

Thanks. I used them when I imported my Henry Atkin SLE. I thought that they were fairly expensive... but times have changed.
