Good evening, came into possession of what appears to be a Dumoulin square bridge magnum Mauser action. Does anybody have details on where these were built and when? Were they Chinese made, similar to the standard length Dumoulins that Sarco sold recently?

The magazine box is 3.84 inches, ejection port is 3.5 inches long. Any info one this would be helpful! 375 H&H fits inside with room to spare. Bolt face is H&H, ejector blade is oversized still. Brand new and unused.

Interesting, I haven't seen one that is a magnum length.
Do they have any more where you picked it up?

A good friend who does all of my rifle and gun smithing work came across it at a small gun show this weekend. An old guy was clearing out the last of his table and my friend knew that I had been looking for a magnum action for a long time and snagged it for me. I've never seen one like it before and it was the only one there.

Can’t see exactly from the pics but this may be a rebranded Vektor African Mauser action. Circa 1997. Reciever ring will be 1.8 mm longer than a magnum Mauser and the front recoil lug also 7.5 mm more to the front to allow more wood behind the lug.
Butch Searcy bought a few as did Purdy.
It is in my humble opinion the best Magnum Copy of the M98 ever produced. Well done on your find!

Sarco had these made in China a couple of years back just with the Dumoulin name. Price was around $500?
BTW, Andy at Sunnyhill manufacture bases, rings to fit those bridges, he could provide more info.

Did Sarco offer a magnum variant? I don't recall that they did though I may have missed it.

I bought one of these Dumoulin receivers from SARCO and the bolt face was for the 308/30-06 family of cartridges.

Not sure what I’m looking at? It looks like the SARCO Chinese actions that went for about $125 rather than the Dumoulin Magnum Mausers that have a proprietary bolt release design. However, it does seem longer than normal with a larger bolt face.

I think that Dumoulin made some of these actions in Belgium in modern times before turning the blueprints over to the Chinese. Could it be a European, Magnum version of what was later known as a SARCO? Purely speculation.

I can say for certain that this is not the action type seen on the finished BelgiumDumoulin Magnum guns that turn up from time to time.

I guess I do not know. All the photos I see are std length., as is the one pic by rookhawk.
Given that, I would say a special action.
Agreed, I've never seen Sarco advertise magnum actions. Though it certainly looks to be the same style, just magnum. Perhaps Rookhawk has more details based on his serial number comment?
