As many of you that own or had Dakotas, I figured I would ask here.
I traded into a Dakota 76 in .375 H&H. Gun is is in good condition with minor marks from hunts. Also has Talley QD rings.
I don’t think I will ever need this caliber since plains game is as much as I anticipate hunting. My thought is selling it and using the money towards a custom build.
My question is about value. I see them on auction sites but not always moving. Anyone have a guess on what it’s worth?

I might be interested, can you give more info, is it a African 76? Or better yet pics.

There are lots of Dakotas, and they come in lots of different models.

Kind of an empty question.

Post a photo and some specs.

Could be $3500, could be $7500, could be an engraved one?

Were it me, I’d keep it. .375 H&H isn’t too much for PG. load solids and you’re still in business for tiny 10. If you ever find yourself in Namibia with it and an opportunity for a PAC Ele comes up, you have your rifle.

I’m not in the market for another, but pictures would help immensely for anyone else interested.

ETA; good luck with selling here. I posted before I noticed that your account is a year old and these are your first two posts.

I have learned from a lot of people on here that they view the 375 as a bare MINIMUM for DG. Many consider it a PG rifle. You might want to keep it.

Here are the pics. Serial # is in the 1300’s

I do not believe that is an African. So $4000-6000 depending what the market will bear.

Base model 76 with 2 options, sights and ebony forend tip.
$4-6k is about right as mentioned with the dings in the stock. The scope has zero value with the rifle.

Viper isn't the lowest ebb of Vortex, but it is still Chinese.

I wouldn't be any hunt on that optic.

If Africa is in your blood or your future I would keep it. Junk the scope it barely good enough to use as a tent stake. Good glass is essential. I've collected Dakota Rifles for years and have yet to find one that won't shoot sub-MOA with most ammo. In this serial number range, they have proven to be on par with any custom rifle for the hunter that doesn't want a "custom plastic" rifle that most are really a just a production rifle with lots of advertising. In Africa the 375H&H is thought of as the do it all rifle!
If you decide to sell, feel free to reach out to me in a PM.

Nice Report! Im about to pull the trigger on booking the LDE with Patrick. I have been talking about it with him for about 3 yrs now. Romain hit me up the other day with an offer I can't refuse for 2027.

Andrew, I commented that your on 375 H&H for sale was the fair price.

Like I commented, my classic stainless has the original 24” barrel.

Did you buy yours with the barrel already cut down to 21” or did you do it (or a gunsmith)?
