Maybe someone has an idea whats wrong. My cz 550 feeds great except for the last round. The last round always has the head of the case jump over the bolt. You have to pull the bolt back the forward to ger the last round in the chamber. It does not matter jow many rds you load. 2,3,4 or 5 always the last round jumps the bolt. What's wrong any ideas. 0.0

Probably a weak magazine spring.

Seems like a weak spring would cause the case to not come all the way up in the mag well. These are jumping over the bolt. It has two mag springs in the rifle.

Does it matter how fast it is cycled? Does the follower look to be in the proper position/tension on last round? A weak spring can affect the angle. A friend had a similar issue with a .416 and he swapped out the spring and it resolved the issues. This was back in the good ol' days when springs were readily available for $10.00. Are you using brass cases or nickel plated? I seem to recall Wayne/AHR recommended not using nickel plated brass. I have a .458 Lott that doesn't distinguish between nickel and brass. Have any surfaces of the extractor been polished? Two mag springs? As in someone doubled up two springs?

I'm not clear exactly what is the problem. Is the case head not engaging the bolt face at all with last round only? Could be the follower or the spring. You can try adding some tension to the spring by removing it and manually stretching the leaves apart. If that doesn't help, the problem is with follower. Is it coming all the way up flush when bolt is open on empty magazine? If not, follower may be getting caught on bottom lip of receiver where it meets magazine box. Some trimming with Dremel grinder to eliminate abrupt edges may be needed.

This is what happens.

I'm certainly no expert - but a weak spring could be letting the last round 'tip' foward.

With the resultant nose down attiitude being enough to have it ride up and over the bolt face.

A competent gunsmith will resolve your issue. Extractor spring should grab the belted rimless round no problem.
when you have a sore tooth go to the dentist !!

I've never seen this - always the bolt rides over the casehead.

Is the follower full length? When cycling can you see the nose dive?

What do you mean by it has two mag springs in the rifle?

Two thoughts. Possible neither is helpful. Somewhere on here there was a thread about a bit of DIY polishing of various parts of the follower and feed lips. I followed thise directions and haven't ever had an issue. Truth be told mine is a .375 H&H so different beast. Second piece of advice would be to reach out to Tim at Matrix Engineering in CO. He took over for AHR and is a fine gunsmith. He might be able to help or walk your through the issue. Knows CZs very well. If I can find those instructions I referenced I will post them here.

Here it is.

This rifle has had all the matric upgrades.

Thanks for all the help. Looks like I have a project. I have some m98 mauser springs I can try. Also I have ordered a Bruno 602 mag spring from wolf I will try.

@CoElkHunter was having the same issue and had Kevin Weaver at Weaver Rifles fix it. I’d contact one of those two but I’m pretty sure it was a bolt modification that needed to be done and not the magazine spring.
Good luck!

See you are from Denmark - see quite a few Danes where I stalk in Scotland - great hunters.
The Harkilia stuff works well in Africa - I have a bit for use here in UK.
I am again looking for 600 Nitro dies preferably RCBS 1 inch. The set I purchased previously are 1 1/2 inch and do not fit my die. Another member has graciously taken them off my hands. If anyone happens to have a set of 600 Nitro Dies that will fit my Rockchucker Supreme RCBS press, please shoot me a message and thanks in advance for any assistance you may have to offer!
I have not posted any items for sale on this forum and will not every put anything for sale. My account was hacked and I've worked with the admin to get things shut down.
