Chainsaws and those who use them

Someone took the time to do a video on my local chainsaw shop the owner is a good friend of mine figured some of you gentleman would get a kick out of it being that his shop is old fashioned and he still does business on a handshake.

I’ve used them extensively when I’ve contracted with tree crews. I have 0 complaints they are amazing saws. The only reason I don’t own any of them is the cost to get into them is so high. Sure they’re $450-850, but you need around $1000+ of batteries and chargers to be able to use them all day on big jobs. Since the tree crew I work for occasionally owns them and I didn’t have to pay for them, I loved them. Super light, really powerful, never have to worry about them not turning on from overheating on a hot day like you do a gas saw. But for the average guy on a budget who wants to use the saw a lot, you’d be better off with an Echo 2511. If you have the money for a top end saw, but don’t use a saw often at all, a stihl battery saw is the way to go since you don’t have to worry about maintaining them and changing gas all the time and starting them once in a while to prevent them from going bad from old gas, or cleaning carbs/fuel injectors, etc. For the guy who’s on a budget AND doesn’t use a saw often, a dewalt or whatever battery ecosystem you have chainsaw is probably the way to go. For an even lower budget, a corded electric saw and an extension cord is also an option, but your range from the nearest outlet is quite limiting

i bought one for my wife. i think it has a 14" bar, don't remember the size. i bought her a stihl weed eater and the saw at the same time, the batteries interchange. if i am gone, she can use the saw and the hardest part for her is starting it.

with the electric saw, she can just pick it up a cut. we are both 65 so a light saw is a good thing for her. i used it once to cut a couple small 9" trees in the yard, made 30-40 cuts with it and only used one bar of the battery so battery life seems pretty good.

While not a chainsaw, I recently bought a Ryobi battery powered post hole digger / auger. I got tired of renting gas powered ones from Home Depot. I did a lot of research and have been very happy with the Ryobi. It's already paid for itself. Lots of power and the battery lasts longer than I do. One person can handle, but two people make it easier. I've drilled 3 feet deep hole with an 8 inch auger and it's been pretty easy. An occasional tree root is the only thing that has slowed us down. I've been using this to drill holes for corner braces, H braces and fence posts on a 70 acre piece of land I bought in Oklahoma. I've added a 12 inch and 4 inch auger bit, as well as a few extensions to allow for drilling deeper.

Need anything in trade?
Cheers,

what kind of velocity does the 140 grains list, curious how they would fit in with my current 130 gr, supply of 270s. maybe a pic of the box data listing vel. and drop. Oh and complements on that ammo belt, nice.
