Anybody ever make a brass buttplate or have one made for a rifle? I have a Ruger 96/22 that I want to put one on. I bought one of the steel ones and it doesn’t fit well, the inletting on the top where the plate sits is deeper than what the steel or factory plastic one covers and also the curve in the stock doesn’t match well.

Some pointers on how to make one or info on who can make it for me would be appreciated.

I believe that houses specializing in supplies for muzzle loader builders would have cast brass butplates. It would need to be fitted, inletted, and installed.

I will be looking for a set of these when my .505 is done... sadly not cashed up right now for these. :(
Need anything in trade?
Cheers,

what kind of velocity does the 140 grains list, curious how they would fit in with my current 130 gr, supply of 270s. maybe a pic of the box data listing vel. and drop. Oh and complements on that ammo belt, nice.
