Angola???

Also waiting for an update here. Was told last year that operators were being approached to take on concessions there etc. Just waiting to book a giant sable hunt

From what I heard it was limited to private land to start with. A big step but still far from complete opening and embracement of hunting.
It is a super exciting development however and they chose to showcase it at Nashville.

I have a friend travelling there shortly, I think just for vacation, but he likely will try and get some hunting in. I will report back what he tells me.

I understand that the offshore fishing is also excellent.

I dont know all that much about this but I did have some email exchanges with one of the outfitters who came to the US to promote this. I visit Angola regularly for work and usually try to go to Namibia for hunting as a side trip. When Angola opened up I was very keen to see what the options were so I could just hunt there. One practical point is that I would still have to take a flight from Luanda to another part of Angola, so that is on par with taking a flight to Windhoek. As I think everyone is aware the hunting in Angola is not all that mature as an industry yet but God bless em. It will get there hopefully. One of my takeaways was that the animals may not be all that prevalent yet and the cost is high, in comparison to Namibia anyway. I did get the below from one of the outfitters, that is in USD. They have three different areas to hunt I believe. Cheers

Be careful. Use an experience agent. Be ready for suprises.
Crazy place.

For giant sable, go to Zambia or a ranch in RSA.

Yeah, let me add that my Angolan buddies, locals and expats, were very skeptical of hunting there. They basically asked me if I was crazy, particularly on the landmine issue much less paying the outfitters - the business end of things, etc. When we discussed that supposedly all the mines were cleared they just shook their head and told me "Yeah, well keep in mind they were cleared African style, be careful". For whatever that is worth. I am just repeating what the locals told me, please don't anyone be offended. Cheers

If there is a reputable outfitter, I’m down for the adventure alone…

See you are from Denmark - see quite a few Danes where I stalk in Scotland - great hunters.
The Harkilia stuff works well in Africa - I have a bit for use here in UK.
I am again looking for 600 Nitro dies preferably RCBS 1 inch. The set I purchased previously are 1 1/2 inch and do not fit my die. Another member has graciously taken them off my hands. If anyone happens to have a set of 600 Nitro Dies that will fit my Rockchucker Supreme RCBS press, please shoot me a message and thanks in advance for any assistance you may have to offer!
