American Standards For Commercially Manufactured Sporting Ammunition

One thing ammo manufacturers have done is introduce “Premium “ product lines with bullets from Sierra, Barnes, etc. This is usually a strong selling point for that particular ammo. It’s not an absolute guarantee of quality, but it’s often a substantial upgrade at 20% increase in cost.

Never had a problem with an ammo manufacturers “Premium “ line. Most often the issues were with the lower end bulk “Bucket O Bullets” type ammo.
Most American makes of ammunition on the current market are quite excellent, @skydiver386

The Barnes TSX, Winchester Power Points, Remington Core Lokts, Federal Trophy Bonded Bear Claws (when available), Swift A Frames (when available) & Nosler Partitions (when available) leave very little to be desired. Custom ammunition manufacturers like Hendershots or Superior Ammo are as close to flawless as is humanly possible. Even Hornady with their new DGX Bonded ammunition are quite good, although their DGS solids should (in my humble experiences) be more sturdily built.

I have a Chapuis 450-400 double that looks brand new and shoots well, never been hunted from what I can tell. I am willing to part with it as I have a 375 H&H Sodia on it's way from Dorleac & Dorleac. I am looking for $9,250 for it and if you are interested, I am happy to send you some pictures. Regards,
Steve
