Advice on Merkel dealer

again, i can use some advice ---I have decided on a Merkel 9.3X74R double rifle and a Merkel Side by side
20 guage shotgun for my collection of actively used hunting guns----I need a rfeliable dealer here in the US--who would
readers here recommend---I live in Montana but will work with anyone in the USD

Your neighbor to the south wants a Merkel drilling. Not easy to pursue in the USA. Steyr Arms USA is the importer but they don't push Merkel too much. They don't push Steyr all that much either.

Merkel unfortunately doesn’t currently have an American importer, although they soon intend to.

I like Merkel too. Their double rifles are getting increasingly popular in Africa. My last white hunter on my most recent safari was carrying a Merkel 140AE boxlock ejector in .500 Nitro Express ( 3 inch ). 570 Gr Barnes TSX soft points and 570 Gr Barnes banded solids are his choice of bullets.

Welcome to AH! Where are you in The Great State of Montana? I currently reside in the Houston area but have a place in the Madison Valley which I may be getting home to sooner than later. Call Steyr Merkel USA in Alabama and ask for Einer Hoff. I have bought several Merkels from him. He is a straight shooter and a great guy to work with. I have even visited their facility in Bessemer Alabama.
