while these are all mauser design, I would like to use m70 win current action as a control comparator.

When I look at the various custom production actions and comparing them to original M98s and 70s it reminds me of my son's father-in-law. He was in the wine business for decades and has a very discernable sense of taste and smell. He can tell the subtle differences in the various attributes of red wines- things that make the difference between a $50 bottle and a $1000 bottle. If I taste the same wines, I can tell if I like them or not and that's about as far as I can tell any difference. Pretty much same with actions. A good tight M98GEW or 98K from Oberndorf or a pre-war (or pre-64) M70 that has been properly tuned appears to me to be as good as the customs. So I guess that I'm not much help, but then I have rather pedestrian tastes.

I really like the quality of my Satterlie Mauser clone with a mod70 type trigger. They come with follower and mag box set for the caliber that you choose. They come in SS, Titanium, and CM I believe. The Granite Mountains usually need a little work according to a few smiths.
