Yet another vote for the 250 grain Barnes TSX. I have used this bullet in 9.3 x62 for elk, with no complaints. I also hunted in Namibia a few years ago. The outfitter rental rifle happened to be in this round and he liked the 250 gr. TSX bullet. We took Springbok, Gemsbok, Kudu, Baboon and Leopard. This caliber/ bullet combo worked perfectly. All shots were under 150 meters, so normal shooting distance while hunting in most areas of Africa.

I mis-spoke.....I shot both the Nosler Partition 250 gr and the Barnes TSX-same grain bullet

TSX for sure or a solid if it is an old bull.
The skin is very thick and they are not easy to bring down.
My son has taken 2 bulls, both with a .375 HH using TBBC on one and a TSX on the other. Required several shots.

I would go with the TSX loading.

I used the TSX 375 caliber 300 grain on Buffalo, Giraffe, Zebra and Black Wildebeest.
Also used TTSX 308 caliber on Zebra, Blue Wildebeest, Warthog and Impala.

The Barnes bullets work flawlessly.

Whichever one shoots better in your rifle. Either is a good bullet.

I’ve used e-Tips in my 7mm RMag on plenty of PG in Africa - they shoot great in my rifle and hold together as expected. Also used e-Tips in Alaska on a Sitka Deer as well as a Mountain Goat.

In fact, I have a bunch of 250 E-Tip Blems for my 9.3x62 and wouldn’t hesitate for a second to load them up.

I am headed to Limcroma Safaris in August for Buffalo and PG. For Buffalo, I am using my 450-400 Heym 88B double. So, I am specifically asking for opinions on PG up to Eland.
I am taking my9.3x62 for the PG opportunities. I am hopeful for Zebra, Kudu and Eland, plus opportunistic species.
First, I am not a handloader. I am speaking strictly of factory loaded ammo. I was looking at lighter 250 Grain options for the 9.3 and the two factory loads that are available are Buffalo Bore loaded with Barnes TSX 250's and Nosler E-Tip 250's. There seems to be a lot of that available on Gunbroker.
I'm sure there are numerous opinions out there. Any practical, personal experience?

Just returned home from the territory where a friend was hunting Buffalo. He had excellent results with his 9 3 x 62 using 250 gr TSX Barnes. I think they would perform great on the bigger plains game. Try to avoid longer shots as velocity fall off quickly which will effect expansion.
