I don't want to put a spanner in the works but make sure you get an ITAC permit from South Africa's side any gun part or reloading component needs it so its not as easy and importing books.

What is an ITAC permit in South Africa?

If you are planning to bring controlled goods, used or second-hand goods, waste or scrap into the country, you first need to register as an importer with the South African Revenue Service (Sars) and then apply to the International Trade Administration Commission (ITAC) for an import permit.

To obtain and Import Permit you must file form IE463. Once complete, e-mail it to either of the following firearms folks at ITAC: Anastasia Tsoku ATsoku@itac.org.za or Marius Collins mcollins@itac.org.za they deal with it normally within 3 business days. Alternatively you can FAX it to 012-394 0517, attn Anastasia or Marius. The permit arrives in the form of an e-mail. When you receive it, forward the email to documents@**NOT**PERMITTED**.
