I’m bringing back out my CZ 602 BRNO that was built by LonPaul of Tangle Wood Custom Guns in .458 Lott.

It’s been twenty years since I’ve used it, and I’m looking to reload my previous known loads, 500 AGS, Woodleigh 500 SP’s.

That said I want to develop a new load with the NorthFork 450 gr. FP Solids. These are the new ones that are made in Sweden . Decades ago I used to shoot the NF’s in 7mm, and 30 cal so their design isn’t new to me.

Who has some real world experience with these Solids in .458? Especially load data? Please list the results and the rifle used, bbl length, velocities, powder weight and type, etc.

I’ll be using New A-Square brass that I have on hand. Yes it’s new old stock that I saved, I also have 500 TBBC’s, and Speer 500 gr African Grand Slams, 450 TSX’s for the Soft Point bullets. All of which I have previously tested twenty five years ago. But it’s the solids that I will be switching over to from the Woodleigh 500 gr. FMJ’s.

If you have any data that you used with the Barnes Triple Shocks I’d appreciate that resource as well since it’s easy to cross reference those with a NF as the act similar in some respects. Unlike the Brass Banded Solid’s which I’m not a fan of, or a brass projectile in particular that’s out there.

Thanks in advance for your personal experience loading the Lott, and any details you can share.

July 2005 issue of Rifle Sporting Firearms Journal along with my testing different loads, and changing out the front sight from a #7 to a #6 for off hand shooting for proper POI/POA @ 25 and 50 yards.

I don’t know why anyone would use H335, it had horrible ES in velocity in this gun, and in my 5.56 NATO M4 with numerous different bullets! I would never recommend it.

Where as VV N135 worked very well with various different bullets in 500 gr.

The Barnes 450 TSX seemed to prefer H4895, and VarGet. I would assume those would work well with the North Fork FP Solids too.

I may try the NF’s behind some Norma powders I have on hand, as well as VarGet and H4895 since they are as temperature insensitive as gun powders get.

Just wanted to say thanks for the excellent customer service. Ordered some 9.3x62 brass and the delivery was a little short. An email through your website Contact Us link was replied to the next day with the tracking info for the correction. Good pricing coupled with great customer service will see returning customers every time. Thanks again!
