I see the .450 Jeffery listed as a caliber choice in some rifles but am unable to find any info on the cartridge (likely a lack of Googlefoo on my part). Is this a Domesticated Wildcat based on the .404 Jeffery Case?

You may be thinking of the 450 No 2 NE. Which is for a double rifle and many made by Jeffery

I thought I had seen it two different places but in retrospect it was only one.

I now suspect that it was a typo and was supposed to be .450 Rigby.

No the 450 Rigby exists very fine cartridge
Based on the 416 Rigby

ParkWest Arms lists the 450 Jeffery as an option for their SD-76 rifle. Now I’m curious.

thanks for your reply bob , is it feasible to build a 444 on a P14/M17 , or is the no4 enfield easier to build? i know where i can buy a lothar walther barrel in 44, 1-38 twist , but i think with a barrel crown of .650" the profile is too light .
