This is a 404 Jeffery I finished about a year ago. I started with an 08 Brazilian DWM receiver and bolt. The barrel is a Krieger that I made a banded style rear sight for with an integral auxiliary recoil lug. The banded front sight and banded sling attachment are NECG masterpiece components...
I'm not sure about Weatherby mag boxes vs Winchester mag boxes. How ever your problem exists because you've moved to a cartridge that has larger case dimensions than what your magazine box was designed for, say maybe a 300 Weatherby prior to rebarreling to 375 Rum.
My gut feeling here is we...
This build is similar to the 1st two in the thread because it uses the same stock.
The action however is a commercial FN that I changed the bolt handle on and set it up with one of my 3 position safeties along with a Recnagle trigger, K&P stainless cut rifled barrel, NECG sights, muzzle break...

This is a 375 H&H I built on a Satterlee action and it has the traditional square bridges that are machined for Talley scope rings. I machine the square bridges so each scope ring sits in a pocket 1mm deep so the scope ring is recoil protected both fore and aft, very secure. The stock on this...

On this rifle I took my traditional square bridge design a redesigned it with integral picatinny bases and manufactured the action in titanium.
It's my 375 drop box action with a steel bolt. The stock is my British Express design in Carbon fiber.
The barrel is a KP cut rifled stainless steel 22"...

Yes,
The traditional square bridge action is the one that I've made the most of, the majority of those actions where machined to accept Talley scope rings. As you know the Talley is sturdy and simple and cost effective. Most guys can't and won't spend $1600 for claw mount fitting, when the...
Thanks Red,
Like I say never been a fan fan of breaks either....but for the guy who really needs it, I do put them on. As far as public ranges go, gave up on those close to twenty years ago. We have our own private range here at Satterlee Arms. For efficient business purposes it's really...
Yes,
Adding weight is easy by making the action out of steel which is a little easier than making one out of titanium, for rough figuring as it pertains to magnum mauser just add a pound.
As far as muzzle breaks go, never been a fan, but then there are people out there with physical...

I've built a fair number of 500 Jeffery rifles. Two rifles based on my own actions, one on a Sarco 98 that I converted, another on a VZ-24 98 that I converted and one GMA standard with a deep box. In all cases proper feeding and ejection was achieved. Caution must be exercised in modification of...
It would be easier and less invasive to set the stock up in a mill and machine a pocket for the recoil lug. 1/2 hour operation tops.
Removable is a pretty general term when it comes to guns. If the lug is high temperature sliver soldered in place you will damage the bluing heating it up hot...
The tang safety is possible and I've done them in the past as a special order. The tang safety was never considered for this rifle build.
In regards to the rotary systems, I've used the Recnagle G9 plus on my rifles. It's a good system. Repeatability is decent, 1 MOA near as I can tell. Being a...
Here is what is going on.
Originally, the rifle started in 257 Roberts, correct?
That original 257 chamber was made to a set of Sammie gauges go no go.
Commercial ammunition makers must produce ammunition that is right at go gauge or slightly less than go gauge for chambering reliability as we...
A set of guide screws will keep all of the epoxy out of your action screw holes during the 1st initial steps of your bedding process. A guide screw is a screw with no head on it and is about 3.0 inches in length. Screw a set into the action. Roll up some paper towel and put it in the front screw...
I finished the 7x57 earlier in the week. In detail again, I made the action from bar stock and it's a small ring intermediate M98. The receiver is 4140 cm steel at 38 rc and the bolt is case hardened 8620 so it's hard, slick and fast cycling. Bottom metal came from A36 bar stock. Barrel is a K&P...

The stock on the 7 came from a blank of Regia, Cecil Fredi out of Las Vegas Nevada, arguably the best wood supplier out there.
The 6.5 customer supplied Nigra.
The barrel contours are not Mauser contours, the 7 contour is a cylinder into a sharp radius and the taper, it's a lightweight sporter...
What caliber are you working with.
I've done quite a few custom conversions over the years based on all types of Mausers.
I use a special fixture that holds the Receiver upside down in my cnc machine.
Program coordinates are based on the magazine box opening dimensions of the magazine box that...
This is a 338 Winchester Magnum built on one of my own actions that I make from raw material.
Featuring extended upper and lower gangs. 1/2 octagon 1/2 round full length rib cut rifled barrel.
