Only had a quick flick through it so far.

Did stumble on an interesting snippet, hitherto unknown to me, that von Ribbentrop was a customer in the 30s.

Who was the author for Game Animals of Africa?

That’s the plastic poster below the books...not an actual book. Probably African Gazette.

Ohhh thanks-that explains why I’ve not heard of it and cannot find it. Have enjoyed the others and was hoping to find a good new one-

Yep - an AHG poster sitting under glass as the table top in my trophy room.

Size: 27.7in x 39.3in (680mm x 1,000mm).

They used to have them as giveaways in the SAPS fiream office at OR Tambo, but I didn't notice them when I was there earlier this year.

They can be ordered online and from memory I saw some for sale at Afton Safari Lodge.

I’ve seen them in the SAPS office also at OR Tambo. They had some there in late June this year.

Sounds like I might have been in there a little early this year.

Glad to see I'm not the only one with a book problem!
You could say I've got three libraries. On the main floor of our home I have my reading chair and most of my African hunting books. In the basement I have a gun room with two walls nearly full of shelves. I don't have any pictures of our cabin up north, but I have a long low wall that holds all my Jack O'Connor books and Outdoor Life magazines, plus some other stuff of course.
Love that chair! Think I have the same design, but in navy blue leather, of course, your library is stellar!

The book is published by African Hunting Gazette, and sent to subscribers.
I got it for 5 year subscription.

Roughly 100ish game species, and an article about Rigby rifles.
Nice coffee table book.
Good photos, and quick reference to animals natural range, and best caliber to use.

Vintage in the library. All the rest unfortunately in the basement. Love books and guns!

I sent an e mail based on the title page in the photo (provided by mark-hunter) and already received a positive response. I’ll order a copy (and subscribe to the magazine) on the next business day. Thanks to all for the responses-

One wall of my modest office (it’s a converted closet) where I keep all my specials. Books are mostly related to mining, western US, and US naval history though my African selection has been growing as of late. Rifles you can see here are (t to b) .500NE, 475 #2, 500-416, and 16g. Behind me in this pic is my main rifle collection, card catalog holding mineralogical specimens, and my rum collection.

I want to say I flipped through this at Afton Lodge. Can anyone back up my poor memory?

That's a proper closet. My wife is trying to get me to buy a yard barn....to move all my stuff out to! Isn't she sweet?? Needs another room for shoes, I guess. lol

It’s my last refuge mate. Everything else in the house “has to look right” and, shockingly, most of my stuff doesn’t. I get a closet and the garage.
I wish I still had a garage. Its now full of "stuff". Can anyone relate?
