I purchased this 470NE Chapuis from Champlin in May 2026. I had George send it to JJ Perodeau to go thru it and make sure everything was perfect, adjusted the LOP to 14 3/4 and mill the rib for a red dot site. I bought a 2 MOA trijicon and sent to to JJ to mount. JJ also took any creep out of the triggers and set the front to 4 pounds and the back to 6 pounds. JJ checked regulation with Federal, Barnes and Hornady factory ammo and Chapuis checked it with Norma.

The rifle is a unicorn - it regulated all 4 different ammos. See the pictures of the targets. It was shipped to me and I put it in a silicone sock and put it in one of my safes. It has never left my safe until I took these pictures. I just posted that I am looking for a 450NE. I have 3 doubles right now and don't need 4 (I don't "need" 3).

Between what I paid for it and the work JJ did, I have about $20,000 in it before the red dot and mount. Having JJ mill the rib and customize a mount gets the dot as low as possible on the rifle. The weaver mounts for this raise the red dot too high. The dot comes up immediately when you shoulder the rifle.

I have never fired it. I received it and immediately put it in the safe in a sock. I was busy getting ready for my first safari in July and did not have time.

$18,000 for the rifle. $19,000 for the rifle with the Trijicon and mount. That includes me shipping it to your FFL and no sales tax. Comes in the factory case. No sales tax, no shipping cost.

Also, if interested, I have lots or brass and bullets that I would make a good price on. I need to inventory those.

It is in brand new, perfect condition. The real reason to be interested in this particular rifle is the proven regulation ot at least 4 different factory ammos - it shot everything that was tried in it. 2 rounds at Chapuis and 6 rounds by JJ.

From Champlin's website on the Chapuis: "We have had every current made boxlock double rifle in our shop, have shot them all, worked on all, had all of them apart and we know for fact that you cannot buy a better one for the money than a Chapuis. We regulate, re-joint, do triggers, re-barrel and hunt with and shoot a lot of double rifles. We flat know this is one tough, attractive, high precision, go to Africa and have money left for the second Buffalo type of gun. I challenge you to show me a better current double rifle for the money."

Please DM me if interested. I will be happy to face time the rifle with you.

FWIW, my wife , who had never seen this rifle before (go figure), told me to keep because it is too pretty to sell.

Beautiful, GLWS.

If only it was left handed.

Why can’t it be? Change of stock?

I have a hypothesis about the triggers, but have never tried it for obvious reasons.
I think it’s just the cheek piece and trigger orientation to be honest.

Great Buy. You will love the Chapuis I have 2 (450-400 & 470) They frankly rival my Heym's.

Thank you for the LIKE on my old post. It brought back memories as I lost her a year and a half ago, at 18+ years.

Noah,
I might be interested in the 470 Woodleigh Softs if the price is right for the entire lot. Are you planning on going to the Tulsa Gunshow in November? If so, perhaps we could meet up.
