I had decided my budding rifle collection was missing a Pre-64 Model 70. The collection was also devoid of a .338. So I set kit sights looking for one. I had my eye on a few, was really close to buying one in particular. But before I pulled the trigger on it wanted, I wanted to give our wonderful community a chance and see what they had. So I put up that scary “Looking to buy” classified. @50Gunner responded very quickly and shared with me pictures of his 1959 .338 Model 70. My quest was over. Better condition if any that I had been looking at and cheaper than half of them! I have now received it. It is truly spectacular. I love this place.

First pic is in my new African Sporting Creations Cape Buffalo Case.

Oh my, I am going to have some dirty dreams about those pictures tonight! You couldn’t have done much better on that one, not knowing what you paid but it was worth it to own such a pristine rifle in the great 338 Win Mag! Congratulations

The case is absolutely fitting for that rifle!

very nice! A family friend used to raise buffalo in Va...when it was butchering time he used that exact rifle - "One behind the ear" he told me, to do the work. It will serve you well.

Very nice. I do love them pre-64 Model 70 Winchesters!

Great rifle! Congratulations :D Beers:

Great rifle and case, in an even greater caliber! Congratulations!

Pre-'64 Winchester M70s exude an 'Old School' class that later itinerations just can't match.

And the .338Win Mag cartridge is literally the 'state cartridge' of Alaska for those wanting a magnum in a standard-action rifle. Great combo!

Thank you for the LIKE on my old post. It brought back memories as I lost her a year and a half ago, at 18+ years.
