This may be an unpopular opinion, but here goes anyway.

This is so sad to watch. I’ve got no idea what was going through this kids mind. It’s easy to jump to a conclusion about him and I’m not immune from doing just that.

This boy (my opinion here..) was conditioned (brainwashed), maybe willingly, into believing that he could spiritually overpower with love a beast that has been hardwired to never pass up an easy meal. This boy dying by his own decision is the product of children being taught that actions don’t have consequences if they are initiated by emotions that make oneself feel superior for having the boldness to commence that action.

Such a horror. The whole affair.

This ^^^. And...

The humanization of animals in cartoon movies/films/television. Where animals come to life and can speak, learn and reason. Many kids grow up with this level of education thinking it's reality, instead of realizing it's just a movie and they getting a proper education on animal behavior.

This is also the basis of the TikTok question that asked women "would you rather be stranded in the woods with a bear or a man"? Most women chose the bear. This comes from their lack of education on bears AND the fact that they (possibly) have had bad relationships with men. Reinforced by society pushing that "all men are bad" doesn't help the reasoning either. A bear is the absolute last animal I'd want to be left in the woods with. Bears don't wait to kill you to start eating. At least the big cats have the courtesy to strangle the life out of you first.

I feel bad for the family of the young man but actions have consequences. I hope they can come to peace with what's happened.

“Brainwashed….. product of children being taught that actions don’t have consequences?”

While I appreciate you’re compassion, this is basically the “avocado toast is keeping you from busy a house” type of argument, because mentally ill people jumping into animal enclosures at zoos has been documented in news papers for well over a hundred years.

Well… he did willingly jump into an enclosure where a gigantic feline predator is.

So….

He probably thought the specimen at the zoo would be cute & friendly like “Tigger” from Winnie The Pooh.

A hundred years?
Yes, this has literally been documented since the late 1800’s when zoos went from iron cages to more natural looking enclosures.

So yeah, at the same point in time where “negro villages” complete with pigmies were on display in zoos you had people crazy enough to jump into animal enclosures.

Do you mind me asking what auction you are referencing? I'm not in the market for any of those rifles...just curious.

Good morning from Montana.

I'm looking at a post from 2018 where you were looking for a lefty Winchester in .375 H&H Magnum. I'm selling mine. My email is [redacted] in the event that you're still searching for a unicorn.

Best,

Kelly Palmer
Gents, if you book and pay your deposit before the end of this year , you can have the bigger cull package for the 2026 price! https://www.africahunting.com/threa...griffiths-safaris-starting-at-us-2-560.96285/
