Bass Pro 375 H&H

Been thinking about getting this one as a b day gift to myself what is cool too is it sounds like the first in a line they will be bringing to market each limited with different animals on the floor plate and calibers
 
I can't bring myself to pick up another .375. Plus my 416 Rigby is my Buff rifle. I would be interested in knowing what calibers the Kudu, Sable, Warthog etc will be.

Make a poll, guess the caliber (Chambering) of each species!


I didn't watch the whole video, curious what the other species are? No t the Big 5, 7, 9, whatever?
 
I agree, this engraving is okay, but if it was a bass bro engraving, it would have ruined the rifle for me. I would like to see the rifle in person. They never did say when they would be out, are they out now? The 2026 shot show super grades are still not on shelves.

I wouldn’t buy it because of the collector, only 250 made sales spiel. Because how many different rare collectors editions are already out there. (Too many to be rare)

Whoever at Bass Pro made the call to NOT put their name or logo on it should be promoted.

for $2400 MSRP. Ignoring the “rare” BS it’s still a great price and a great rifle.
 
More marketing BS. So what's so different about this version vs the M70 Safari? Barrel contour, cheap engraving and higher price.
 
It’s a great rifle for the money. If you like the engraving (I do) that adds some value. It appears to have a bit nicer wood than the standard. Don’t buy it for the collector value. It really has none. It’s a Super Grade which gives it a slight premium over the standard edition. Instead, buy it to hunt the heck out of it!
 
What more do you expect from a 2400 rifle?:) It has Grade 2 French Walnut, CRS, famed Win 70 action, barrel hood, tapped for scope, some engraving on the bottom plate, all in all a fine rifle for the money.
If I had not recently purchased a 375 I would have looked at this hard :)

They don't mention the animals in the video. I immediately went onto Bass Pro Shops webpage to see if they had the rifle listed. They did. And the write up says its the first in a series that will feature different calibers and engravings of Kudu, Sable, Warthog etc.
 
I was disappointed he said "American Made Design" right at the beginning. That is misleading for the uninformed.

Otherwise, at what it is, I think it is a cool rifle I hope they have a lot of success with.
 
Let's all just be grateful Winchester produced a CRF rifle in a solid safari caliber and in an affordable platform. With CZ and Remington out of the picture, Ruger doing their own proprietary cartridge thing, it's nice to see a safari rifle that's affordable for everyone. Remember it wasn't that long ago that we took for granted the ease of finding a CZ 550, Remington 700, Sako 85, Winchester M70, or a Ruger African in .375 H&H. I miss those days!
 
Ironically, I can't remember seeing any loaded 375H&H ammo on their shelves in many years, albeit I did see a very small quantity of Barnes .375 cal. reloading bullets about for years ago.

Admittedly, north Texas is probably not a hot spot of demand for them. :)

I doubt at that price point they are made here and for them Winchester + BassPro be able to cut a margin. Most probably some of the parts "may be" made here and assembled in Portugal?
 
They are made in Portugal with the other model 70s.
 
For the money, I think it checks a lot of boxes for a classic safari rifle. I like it a lot more than the Tsavo. Especially the stock profile. If I didn't already own a Model 70 safari express I would consider this a top choice for a classic rifle at an affordable price. My safari express is the Portugal production and it is extremely accurate. I am a sucker for nice wood so im considering an Accurate Innovations stock for mine, the regular safari express has really boring wood. I also like red butt pads and ebony tips. The AI stock will put me way over this price point but I will still be less than a used dakota. Am I on the wrong track here?
