I am currently in Romania hunting with the team at @HUNTROMANIA had an epic day. It’s only day 1 !!!

We walked into a high seat in the dark and rain in the Carpathian Mountian with red stag roaring all around us. This guy came out of the forest at first light

Then in the evening we chased roebuck in the open agricultural fields. Little deer in wide open fields….I connected with a really old buck at sunset, very last light.

First night dinner with a huge table share plate off România meats and all the smoke to go with it. Lots of fun!!!

If that's the warm up on day one .....

great start, keep it coming!

Great pics! Did you take your rifle there or did you rent one local?

Also, were vampires on the hunting menu or even an issue at night in camp? ;)
I am using their rifles.

We are going to go tour Draculas castle next week., if we have time

Excellent sir! How much does a stag like that weigh? I struggle pinning down the euro type trophy ratings.

Thank You
I am not sure how much it weighs. The package was any stag regardless of weight

@Mekaniks
One question.
What is the plan with trophies? Is it possible to take them back home in checked in luggage? Or they need to be shipped different way?

(I am asking for a friend)

Most of the trophies must be seen by a government commission after 60 days from the hunt before they can be taken.
After 60 days or when we have the commission approvals is a matter for the airline policy or the entry regulations of each country.

Florin (PH) and I went to an antique swap meet yesterday. Florin is an antique collector. I know just enough about antiques to know that I know shit about antiques, and even less about European antiques. It was a fun morning and I learned a lot from Florin. I purchased a pair of glass beer mugs made in Romania during the communist regime, Probebly 1970’s ish…..

Yesterday morning we chased Roebuck out in the agricultural fields for a couple of hours.

Then we loaded up the truck and took off for the 8 hr drive across România for the castles. Headed for tours of the Bran Castes and the Wednesday Castle.

Marius arranged for us to stay in a very nice Air BnB about 70km from the castle.

Beautiful stags and a super roe deer! I must get to Romania!

Today we toured the Catacuzino Castle where the movie “Wednesday” was filmed and toured lots of its amazing history.
Then we toured the Bran Castle home of the infamous Vlad the Impaler Dracula Castle. Lots of history and amazing architecture.
Found a few new beers… and even had an EPIC street hot dog for lunch.
Tomorrow we head back to Cluj to see some Cluj-Nampoca

Yesterday Marius picked us up at our lodging outside of Brasov (some small town I don’t know the name of) and we traveled to Cluj-Napoca.

We hit the Ursus Brewery for dinner last night with lots of good food and lots good of beers.

Then capped off the evening with a a couple bottles of really good wine and really good conversations.

Do you mind me asking what auction you are referencing? I'm not in the market for any of those rifles...just curious.

Good morning from Montana.

I'm looking at a post from 2018 where you were looking for a lefty Winchester in .375 H&H Magnum. I'm selling mine. My email is [redacted] in the event that you're still searching for a unicorn.

Best,

Kelly Palmer
