Bob, this is a great example of why you should take anything you read on wiki with a grain of salt.

The 350 Rigby would be a fine all around cartridge for African Plans Game, as it was intended.
My problem with many cartridges from Rigby is availability. I've seen 350 Brass, but haven't seen loaded ammunition for several years. Kynoch was usually a reliable source for most European cartridges, but much of what they produced is now collectors items. Sad to see this happening to such a great cartridge.

Agreed.
According to the Australian Agent they have sold a few .350 Rigby's, hopefully they sell a a lot overseas and the cartridge has a mini renaissance.
In reality it shouldn't have died for mine, its a cool looking round, looks like it will feed slicker than goose snot with that bit of taper, the rifle I have on order holds 5 down.
I'm going to buy 4-500x cases and that should be a lifetime supply.
I think Rigby are going to have some ammo produced for the .350 Rigby as well.
Also how cool is the .350 Rigby

Going away back to the original post, as others have notedthe Big Game Lightweight is no longer a .350 alone. Very smart offering it in the two additional "lightweight" big game calibres, .300 and .375 H&H given the current fringe nature of the .350 (for now.) The .375 in this model would be the ultimate choice were i in the market for a Rigby at present. The lines lean even a bit more than typical to specific vintage models, and i appreciate the absence of a cheekpiece, which for a fella smack in the mean developed-world height range who hunts with iron sights is simply bulk/clutter. That's something rare in a production rifle today, having the option of no cheekpiece. I've ground my share of them off. Mind you, i get it. While it's not that difficult to remove one, i've seen some results of folks attempting to add them. Things you can't un-see.

Now that would need a really really quick twist barrel and that would let you know you have shot it. That would be one long bullet but it would have a great SD.
Might need to be long throated and single loading tho

Quailty Cartridge state side make cases, and Bertram here.
IF you are in a pinch the belt can be turned off .375 H&H cases I beleive....you could start with basic unstamped H&H cases.
If Hornady start making it for Rigby, well it will get its niche following. Sad part now CZ has stopped making safari rounds (race to the bottom for them now it seems) is that the .416 Rigby and others will again be niche...not everyone can spring for semi custom or customs. The CZ gave the option to everyone to enjoy these classics, such a shame.

not sure but when I search for the brass they pop up. Scored a set of .350 Rigby dies today at a shop in Australia, thought I'd better grab them while available. CH4D...I have other dies of theirs and they have been good.

Interestingly, Joe Coogan turned to his long time friend and master rifle-smith, Lon Paul, to build his Selby-inspired “professional hunter’s dream rifle” off that vintage BRNO action (with pop-up peep sight), and certainly there was no one better qualified than Lon to do it.
In 1996 it was an old Coogan piece on Lon’s “BRNO ZKK 602 conversion” work that inspired me to send Lon my .375 BRNO for the same upgrades. (Link to my recent article on that rifle is below).
Had I another BRNO 602 rifle today, or at least the action, I’d want to build the same rifle as Coogan’s - except chambered in .404 Jeff, not 416 Rigby.

For a long time before that I tried to read every article in the gun magazines about African rifles and their large magnum cartridges and the animals taken with them. Very nice. I have a CZ .375 H&H customized as my backup rifle here in grizzly country in part after seeing photos of Selby's trim old Rigby in Sports Afield and reading his account of slimming it down. I really like the simple elegance of his gun and his accounts of how it handles.
