Has anyone used the Swift .458 bullets in a .450ne?

Other then lack of demand (which is a tremendously valid reason) why doesn't swift make a .450ne a-frame versus their .458 RM or Lott variety?

Swift shows a 450gr and a 500gr A-frame. One of those may regulate. I imagine they dont offer the 480gr simply because 450 NE guns are somewhat rare.

The O-jive on the 480gr 458’s designed for the 450NE is unfortunately different than the O-jive on the 450gr and 500gr .458’s designed for other 45cal firearms. Additional the cannelure is also in a different spot.

I recently purchased some A-Frames in each grain weight to see if I can get them to regulate. Not holding my breath but going to give it a try, just haven’t had a chance.

Hopefully Woodleigh will eventually get production ramped up again. They were really the chief supplier of double rifle bullets.

I expect the 500’s will regulate just fine. Most likely the 450’s will do well also. I had no issues but maybe I was lucky. Good luck and enjoy the discovery!

Back in 2015 I use the 500 gr Aframes in a 450nE double for my first buffalo. My double was easy to develop a load for the aframe. If memory serves me it took three range sessions. They regulated at 2130fps.

I think forum prohibits making reference or giving personal references to PH/Outfitters that don't advertise on this forum.

But you can call me. I would be happy to discuss Cape Buffalo .
