416 Rigby bullet recommendations

I cannot help but like the Swift A-Frame bullets.
Factory loaded 375 H&H 300 grain A-Frames and 416 Remington 350 grain A-Frames, impressed me with their accuracy.

I have some 416, 350 A-Frames that I bought for the 416 Ruger, when there was little to none hand loading information. I was worried about COL with monolithic bullets. As it turned out no issue with the 350 grain TSX in the Ruger cartridge. The TSX shot so well, I have never gotten around to loading the Swifts. I need to.
I need to search out some 458, 450 grain A-Frames for 458 Winchester & Lott.
I have Remington factory loads in 458 Winchester. It appears by Swift #2 reloading manual that load can be comfortable enhanced, and of course the Lott a bit more.
Always good to have options if available.
 
Since Barnes came out with 400 grain TSX i have taken over 30 Cape buffalo with them in my old 416 Rigby. My rifle shoots them very accurately. Prior to using them i used a variety of 400 grain bullets, they all worked well on buffalo.
 
I know that I'm the odd man out on this, but my factory Hornady .416 Rigby performed flawlessly on buffalo in both solids and expanding loadings.


My PH confirmed that he had never seen a Hornady DG, not perform as expected.

350gr speer hotcores are cheap compared to other bullets. Wouldn't hunt DG with them but good practice.

I am running 99 grains of h4350 (max load in hodgon reloading manual) and getting 2750fps out of my cz550 416 rigby with these.
 
400gr TSX for softs and 400gr Barnes Solids for solids.
Don't overthink this.
 
Agree with R8.

I load the 410 gr Woodleigh RNSP's in my CZ550.

It worked wonderfully on the on Cape Buff I have shot. Accurate and they hang together well.

I actually believe the .416 Rigby could really be used in a one gun safari role if one wanted.

340 Woodleigh protected points or 300 gr Barnes for plains game
410 Woodleighs for Buff
Hydro's as R8 as used for Elephant if they are on the list.

I'd pack 2x scopes in QD's one low powered variable and a something with 10x or so at the top end for the plains game animals.

It really could be as versatile as the .375 H&H IF one can shoot it well.

I can say the .416 Rigby with Woodleigh 410 gr RNSP's hammers warthogs

450 grain Woodleigh softs, excellent accuracy and good results on buffalo, scrubbers and pigs.

Bertram 410 grain for paper / plinking.

The 350 TSX in the 416 Rigby is a hammer. No need for 400 gr including buffalo. The 350 will also shoot Quite flat. It can be pushed to 416 WBY levels with careful handloading.

I have several "slack" days after fishing before I head for stay in Sydney and Fiji.

Do you have any recommendations for 1 or 2 day hunt near Cooktown?

I've hunted both DG and PG in 4 different countries in Africa.
