One for the Aussie rigby rifle owners,

I’ve been wondering, would there be any interest in a catchup and possibly a hunt?
I’d be happy to just meet some fellow rigby owners over a beer and see their rifles and have a chat.

I’d also be up for a hunt be it vic high country or even a group guided hunt for pigs or buffalo or whatever.

Let me know if there’s any interest.

The SSAA Big Game Rifle National shoot is in Vic on 07 Nov.

Might be a good chance to organise a catch up?

Can non SSAA members come along?

I’ve never been to one of these things, can smaller calibres shoot as well? I’ve got nothing bigger than a 9.3x62

Jack - SSAA membership is a requirement to shoot.

Your 9.3 is all class and will qualifiy for 2 of the events, Group 1 and Special Snap.

You're welcome to borrow some of my hardware for other events if you'd like.

Hi Franz - yes, Tom is in the loop, the shoot is Sat 07 Nov 26.(y)

We could do potentially do a catch up during the shoot, or I'm thinking possibly on the day prior, Fri 06 Nov 26.

Nah mate not much interest.

Rigby rifles in Australia are a tiny niche mostly high end imports, not mass popular like Tikka or Lithgow. No active FB groups, forums, or Reddit threads popping up for owners to catch up or hunt pigs buffalo together. Private groups exist but are for other rifles only, and X searches show zero Aussie Rigby talk for real world meets.

Blokes with these beauties just keep 'em private and shoot solo or through guides. Your idea's solid, but it'd probably fizzle without an existing crew. Stick to the range with your new rig or hit up a pro outfitter for the hunt side.
 
I've put a deposit on a couple of Rigby's...so not in my hands yet.

30/06 HS and a Vintage .375 H&H and then I'll change from the CZ .416 Rigby to a Rigby .416.

Long term I wont be able to go without a .275 HS either.

I'm beginning the process of condensing down and replacing with Rigby's.

Right now I am liking the Big Game "Vintage" style.

It will be an expensive change over....but this is what I am going to go "terminal" with :cool:

You’re going to need a big seagull to take that chip off your shoulder.

There are plenty of Aussies using their Rigbys to hunt in Australia. Have a look on this forum and you’ll see a few examples.
