Yes, I know, I should use a different airline, avoid UK. But it is a little late for that... So...

I called BA to tell them I'm bringing a rifle with me and they took all the information. Do they usually sent you a reply back with the approval?.
If so, how long does it take?. I was thinking they will approve within a few days, but I've called them about a week ago and no response.

Second question, I have a long layover and will like to know if anybody who has traveled with guns, has had any issues leaving the airport.
I was thinking of just going through immigration and heading into Oxford. But it was pointed to me that I may have issues since I'm traveling with guns, even though I will not be in possession of them. Any first hand experience will be appreciated.

(1) zero problems with BA.
(2) you call exactly 72 hours before your flight and they will tell you it’s approve or not.
(3) no problem leaving the airport with a check firearm to your final destination.

This a BA metal to BA metal transfer at Heathrow, correct. If not, you will have problems.

Oxford offf it’s a long way from Heathrow. How long is your stop over? It is doable but you just need one traffic jam our delayed Train and :Banghead:

Or do mean the street not the town (y)

It's BA to BA. I arrive like at 7:00am and leave on the 7pm to Johannesburg

Oxford the town. There is a bus that leaves every hour or so from the airport. I took it last time I was there (well from Gatwick, but it drove to Heathrow before heading into Oxford)

Last time i did BA charged me for each flight £150 x 4 not very user friendly in my experience

Think the charge is actually £125 not £150
Those 7am till 7pm you should be okay. Two things to mind you need to be back a good 2.5hr before the flight so that will be bringing you back around rush hour on the M40, M25, M4 which are all very busy junctions at that time. I’d make arrival time before flight out 3hr just to be on the safe side.

I’m going BA in two weeks. Going to email them and Airlink Monday to advise them I’m transporting a firearm.

Are you going into London? Or staying in the airport?

On the way over I’m staying in the airport. On the way back we are going to hit Windsor since if we miss a flight it won’t mess up my hunting.

BA in Nashville tried to change me for the rifle and the ammo box. I had printed out their policy and highlighted it. I pulled it out and they took off the extra charge.

Hi Dr. Ray, I will be in Cooktown from Oct 16 to Oct 23 fishing Lizard Island Black Marlin Tournament.

I have several "slack" days after fishing before I head for stay in Sydney and Fiji.

Do you have any recommendations for 1 or 2 day hunt near Cooktown?

I've hunted both DG and PG in 4 different countries in Africa.
Thank you,
Bob

Good morning. I see that you had a Sauer 202 for sale for $3,000. Did you sell it at that price?
I have one for sale as well. I listed it (on here ) at $3,000 as well. Is the price high, low or right where it should be?

Thanks. Alex. [redacted] in case you want to call me to discuss further. I appreciate your time help and support.
