Lab Ellie age 11 and Fr Britt "Puppy" age 15. We bagged more pheasants last fall than most guys shoot in a lifetime. We've been hunting birds together in Montana every year since they were born. I'm hoping we have one more season together.

I've never been much of a pet person, but my girlfriend has a dachshund and it is quite the adventure dog. Plus its great at flushing out the gophers. I've started to like it shadowing me.

There is nothing soft about a Dachshund as they were bread to flush Badgers out of their dens.
Then there was Valerie the Dachshund that went missing for over a year and survived in the bush.
That was a good watch, thanks! I definitely enjoy that her lap dog can come fishing and hunting with me, I guess they weren't named badger dog for nothing :)

End result when my 55 pound female lab argued with the male 110 pound chessie over ownership of a tennis ball-I believe. My daughter was caring for them while I was out of town. Surgery reqd to replace torn bottom lip and flush punctures through her nose and upper plate. Cone of recovery for two weeks plus pain meds and antibiotics. Went out this morning and despite all that she had a tennis ball in her mouth. . .

This is Magnus and his girlfriend. He was a St. Bernard-Great Dane mix. 170 pounds of love who thought it was a lapdog. He was absolutely devoted to me. He lived to be about 14, but the breed is prone to hip dysplasia and arthritis and he had both pretty bad. His backside didn't work too well in his advanced age and he'd make a lot of messes in the house. He loved to chase the magpies in the back yard and they would just fly up on the fence and tease him. He slipped on some ice in wintertime chasing them, we had to pay $5000 to have his leg rebuilt. The closest vet that could handle a dog his size and do the surgery was 3 hours away.

Eventually life just got too rough for him that we had to call a mobile vet in to send him on his way. We bought him cheeseburgers and Reese's peanut butter cups because every dog should know the taste of chocolate before they go. We go to McD's and buy some cheeseburgers on the day he died.

I took Remi for a walk in prime Sambar country. The main reason for the walk was to see If I could push a 4X4 track down to the river. Steep rough country. The dingos were howling up on that ridge in the left of this photo.

The Sambar stags have been beating the hell out of the Sheaoak saplings.

Someone has been down at flat by the river and taken a couple of does, and left the evidence.

Remi and I had lunch down at the river. It was a 460m decent so now we have to climb back out.

On the climb out we found evidence of where the dingos had taken a Sambar fawn.
I covered 9Km and Remi did 12Km as she was rangeing out ahead of me. We both climbed a total of 920m in elevation. And I did work out how I can get a 4X4 track down to the river.

This is nacho.
She's my wife's favorite child and thinks she's a people. I'm half convinced my wife loves her more than our actual children. Maybe more than half.

Nacho is dumb as a box of hair but super sweet. She also thinks she needs to sleep on our bed and on our pillows.

Nacho's only skill is that I think she can tell time. When she hears the cuckoo clock strike 3, she relentlessly follows you around and "reminds" you that dinner is at 4 and you have the option to feed her early.

Hi Dr. Ray, I will be in Cooktown from Oct 16 to Oct 23 fishing Lizard Island Black Marlin Tournament.

I have several "slack" days after fishing before I head for stay in Sydney and Fiji.

Do you have any recommendations for 1 or 2 day hunt near Cooktown?

I've hunted both DG and PG in 4 different countries in Africa.
Thank you,
Bob

Good morning. I see that you had a Sauer 202 for sale for $3,000. Did you sell it at that price?
I have one for sale as well. I listed it (on here ) at $3,000 as well. Is the price high, low or right where it should be?

Thanks. Alex. [redacted] in case you want to call me to discuss further. I appreciate your time help and support.
