In reality, there is no $10K limit, you can take out any amount you wish however anything over $10K has to be declared to customs. Most people do not wish to bother and keep it under $10K.Cash usually works mind the 10k limit .....
Thanks to one of your posts I saw last fall, I too was able to simply write out a check to D&Y, then text a copy of the check to Dalton, it couldn't be any easier.Dalton and York had three or four methods of payment. The easiest. And the one I used. was to write a personal check. Send him a picture on WhatsApp and they instantly cashed it.
Many outfitters have a US rep that can receive the money (in the US) and forward (wire transfer) to the outfitter on your behalf. It's worth asking the outfitter if you're concerned.Really interesting thread. I'm actually doing research on this exact problem — specifically the experience of wiring money internationally to book a hunt. For those of you who've done it: was the wire transfer itself stressful, or did you feel pretty comfortable once you'd vetted the outfitter? And has anyone ever had something go wrong — outfitter cancelled, miscommunication, anything — where you wished you'd had some kind of protection on that money?
I was pretty close to booking a hunt in Namibia last summer and it got to the point where I was going to send the wire transfer to a bank over there and it kind of freaked me out to say the least.
Not selling anything, genuinely trying to understand how bad this pain point actually is before I explore building something around it. Appreciate any honest takes.

I got the SWIFT info from the outfitter, then used my bank's app to wire the funds. There is a $25K limit, so if above that there is an extra step, they will call me within minutes and I'll say go ahead.eally interesting thread. That doesn't make sense, in the USA the only thing one needs to do is declare it if it is over $10K.In regard to the 10 k limit, be careful in Canada. If you have more than 10 k Canadian they will not let you in the country. Saw it happen to a couple of bear hunters while waiting in customs
I have done it through my credit union and through my bank (Wells Fargo). It has been a smooth process.Really interesting thread.
