At the church several letters sent home to his mother were read. They made us relate to him as a young man not some faceless name being burried. One was written on a Sunday afternoon. It described a hearty meal consisting of one spoonful of meat. One spoon of beans. And one spoon of pudding. He said that was the best
Meal he had in a long time and wouldn’t go into their normal meals.

The letters sent home to his mother after his death from the men he lead and fought along side were very inspiring.

Last Friday we traveled with the hearse to Detroit Metro airport to receive his coffin. We were able to get the Michigan State Police Motor team to escort us from Detroit all the way to Croswell. With lights on and occasional sirens they cleared a path for the hearse and we went 75 to 80 miles an hour through the city of Detroit in rush-hour. It was a sight to see, them blocking on ramps and clearing a path for us.

At each county line, we passed through four counties. The sheriffs had their own escorts drop in behind.

We met the larger group of motorcycles an hour north in Port Huron. Once we joined up with the Sanilac County Sheriff and the larger group of motorcycles, we continued North with a large procession and held the small ceremony at the funeral home.

Social media, Detroit legacy media and our local news got the word out. And nearly every overpass from Macomb County North had fire trucks and people waving flags.

Then for 30 miles people lined M-25 in the rain to welcome him home.

I swapped challenge coins with the state troopers. This is the same team that escorts presidents when in town. And just a few days before that we had two ex presidents in Grand Rapids that these guys escorted with the secret Service.

May he rest in Peace, may his family find comfort and solace in bringing him home and knowing his journey. It is estimated there were upwards of 40k servicemen and women MIA in the Pacific Theater and more than 25K MIA in the European Theater.
The US had over 400k KIA in WW II; and not to forget the over 60 MILLION casualties combined from the Soviet Union, Germany, Poland, Japan and China.
This has been a solemn week.

Don't let it pass; remind your family of the sacrifice that has been made and the terrible, awful cost so many have suffered. If not discussed it will be forgotten; If you can't talk about it write a letter to your family; make copies for each and share the history, the sacrifice.
Not directed at you @BryceM but everyone,

It was the South Pacific battles in large part that helped form the decision to drop the bombs on Japan.

After seeing firsthand tenacity and willingness of the Japanese soldiers to fight to the bitter end. US leadership realized Japan would never surrender, and it would take a monumental land invasion force. And it was projected approximately 1 million would die in the invasion.

Very moving, Welcome home Soldier!

We are very fortunate to have a very active American Legion. Young GWOT US Army post commander. Half of the officers are younger men.

And do a lot for the community. Several funerals per week. Donations. Parades.

We have another memorial today for one of our older members grandson. A U.S. Army vet that fought for 20 years in the GWOT terror. He died recently from complications of surgery from some of his wounds.

I’m proud to say our little town and legion was home to Parry a freind of mine. A. Amazing man

He is next to Colin Powell at Arlington.

It's been a long time since he answered the last bugle call but he's home at last. RIP soldier.

Our American Legion just finished a memorial service for another one of Croswell’s finest.
CSM Barr was wounded by a suicide bomber and recently passed away from complications of a surgery to remove one of the over 120 pieces of shrapnel.

Below is a picture of Jason son. Following in his father’s footsteps. And a friend of mine. Jason’s father John.

I am again looking for 600 Nitro dies preferably RCBS 1 inch. The set I purchased previously are 1 1/2 inch and do not fit my die. Another member has graciously taken them off my hands. If anyone happens to have a set of 600 Nitro Dies that will fit my Rockchucker Supreme RCBS press, please shoot me a message and thanks in advance for any assistance you may have to offer!
I have not posted any items for sale on this forum and will not every put anything for sale. My account was hacked and I've worked with the admin to get things shut down.
