Any recommendations on the French Riviera?

Travel is dependent on individual taste. I was less than impressed with Monaco. Outrageously expensive and really, not much there (but I'm not into racing). I have young children, so we booked the bus tour which was an enjoyable and doable way to see Monaco. There are a series of stops that the busses make. You can get off and stay as long as you wish. When you are ready to move on, catch another bus and continue the tour. The bus driver's also have speakers and will tell you about the history of Monaco, which seemed to be mostly about the Grand Prix. The casino was worth a stop, but I'm a fan of 007. Pont du Gard is 3 hours west of Monaco and that was much more interesting to me. If you want to shop, Andorra is a better option as it is not a member of the EU. It has a different VAT system and shopping there is tax free.

The one thing I can promise you is that your son will find a day on the beach anywhere between Cannes and Monaco a truly memorable experience.
True story, one of the best “sights” I’ve ever seen was very unexpected at the bottom of a flight of stairs leading down to the beach in Nice. The rest? Very saggy

He’s three - he’ll be more focused on the sand than anything else
Then he is going to be greatly disappointed, if he is looking for a nice white sandy beach.

Oh well - the kid likes to play with sticks and empty boxes. He’ll have fun stacking rocks or something.

The time of year you decide to go makes a big difference also. We were just there this past August and it was packed. There is a large parking garage on the top of a mountain and we took that and walked down to a bus. You can buy the bus tickets online. My sister-in-law and brother-in-law went in October and they had no issues with crowds. Here's a photo dump from our day in Monaco.

32 Euro for four bottles of water! My Irish coffee was 19 Euro alone- you live once I guess.

Hoping that this group of well-travelled people can help.

Leaving next Friday for Antibes. I could not have possibly planned any less for this trip, aside from booking flights and the stay. The only thing I know at this point is that we promised to take our son to the beach and we are going to go see the Picasso museum.

Any good restaurants, cool bars, hangouts, or stuff to visit between Cannes and Monaco? I’m assuming there has to be some cool racing stuff somewhere with the Monaco Grand Prix.

Antibes is great for relaxed beach time, wandering the old town, and the Picasso Museum. Between Cannes and Monaco, the coastal drive is the highlight, with Eze and Saint-Paul-de-Vence worth stopping at for views and atmosphere. In Monaco, explore the harbour, Casino Square, and the old town, you will naturally see parts of the F1 circuit while walking around. For food and bars, Cannes and Monaco both have plenty of good seafront options without needing reservations if you stay flexible.

It's worth a visit just to gawk at the cars parked outside of this place on any given day!!
It’s like the country is just one big Bentley, Lamborghini, and Rolls Royce dealership.

Post some photos at a later date if you feel comfortable posting them here. It would be cool to see some of that area.
Forgot to take many pictures that weren’t of my wife and son, but it’s one of the better places I’ve been. You can definitely have the “beer and tacos” type trip there like you mentioned. I basically only drank beer and coffee, and half our meals were bread, cheese, and meat on the beach.

Depends on what you like. Personally I like to eat.

If you get to hotel Negresco in Nice, their restaurant, Negresco IIRC, is out of this world.

As is Joel Robichaud's restaurant in Monaco.

And if you are looking for a restaurant with a view, this place is unforgettable, but tricky to get to:

I have a bunch of interesting hotels and etc in the area my friend Peter James researched for his honeymoon that all turned out great. If you are having really troubles planning your itenerary together shoot me a dm and I will try to dig up the info for you.

In Monaco if you are there when the track is set up you can pay 100 euros to have a pro driver take you for a spin around the track in a Ferrari. Great fun.

Thank! Unfortunately, we’re on our way back now - landing in ATL as we speak. Was a great trip though.

Glad you had a good time. If you found any cool restaurants that were unique do let me know.

I’ll ask my wife if she remembers any names.

Take binoculars. Handy for bird watching ... especially the topless ones at the beach.

If you're into conspicuous consumption, Monaco is your place. In most marinas, you can view the yachts and wonder "What company does the skipper own?". In Monaco, the question is more like "What country does he own?" The luxury stores there are absolutely breathtaking. Should you feel successful in life, Monaco will disabuse you of that notion unless your last name is Walton, Gates, or Musk.

The breakfast buffet at the Fairmont is wonderful, and the hotel balcony is a great place to count Ferraris, McLarens, etc. Many years ago, I spent two weeks at the Hotel San Remo in San Remo, on the Italian side, and it was just wonderful, so you might consider a visit across the border into Italy.. I hope nothing has changed but a little online research will go a long way to avoid disappointment.

See you are from Denmark - see quite a few Danes where I stalk in Scotland - great hunters.
The Harkilia stuff works well in Africa - I have a bit for use here in UK.
I am again looking for 600 Nitro dies preferably RCBS 1 inch. The set I purchased previously are 1 1/2 inch and do not fit my die. Another member has graciously taken them off my hands. If anyone happens to have a set of 600 Nitro Dies that will fit my Rockchucker Supreme RCBS press, please shoot me a message and thanks in advance for any assistance you may have to offer!
I have not posted any items for sale on this forum and will not every put anything for sale. My account was hacked and I've worked with the admin to get things shut down.
