Ordered my LAST African Safari rifle at DSC this year...

Rigby appreciates everyone's interest in this. We greatly value @Tanks and all of our customers and fans.

There was an unfortunate misunderstanding and the Team has been working directly with @Tanks and they have scheduled to take care of his concerns.

Removing the case color hardening is relatively quick process the finish he seeks can be thereafter applied to the gun.

The Team at Rigby is here to address any questions or concerns, and I encourage anyone to feel free to reach out to me directly should they need assistance.
Great how this is handled. I can remember a prominent remember that had ordered a VC and there where a lot of problems. Crickets... VC was a sponsor back then and never bothered to give a response.

This is how you handle this!

Marc Newton, the managing director of Rigby, has reached out to me as well. So, there is a plan to get it resolved. I was told they CCH every gun and then remove the colors if client wishes for gray, so this should be a two-day chemical process when I bring the gun to them on my next trip over there.

BTW, I just sent them a deposit on a London Best LH bolt Mannlicher style gun, so still doing business with them.
One thing you can't fault Rigby on is customer service. I had an issue with something recently and received outstanding customer service from both Franz and Marc.

Ooooh, do tell? What chambering. With the quality of Rigby’s stock work, this sounds to be gorgeous.

So the original post title, maybe ordered your next to last safari rifle? And hope not….so many guns yet to discover.

Mistakes happen… but I don’t judge people or companies by their mistakes.. I make mistakes every day…

I judge people and companies based on how they recover from mistakes… do they step up and correct them? Do they act professional? Do they learn from the mistake and have a plan for not making the same mistake again?

It appears to me that @RIGBY is doing everything right here.. they ran straight at the problem rather than away from it.. the most senior person in the company has gotten personally involved.. they have committed to correcting the mistake in a manner that has satisfied the customer… and the customer is so satisfied that he has already committed additional business to Rigby…

To me, that is text book world class customer service… this “mistake” would actually make me more inclined to do business with them, and less inclined to consider their competitors..

Good job Rigby!

This is not a safari rifle though, 9.3x62 with a 20” barrel for driven pig etc..

Speaking of gorgeous doubles, fine engraving and updates…when may we expect some updated photos of progress on your fixed lock beauty?
Post. #132 has the pictures of the finished Shikari.

Thank you! I genuinely appreciate that!

That is wonderful to hear! We certainly strive to do everything perfectly, but sometimes miss the goal.
In out meetings, Marc always reminds us that one of the top guiding principles is that "Rigby gives a f*ck!" Hopefully, this comes across in how we correct mistakes.

Well, after the ten day wait, I picked up the Shikari. Almost afraid to handle it without white gloves. :ROFLMAO:

I am busy moving this month so will not be able to take it out to shoot until after the move. However, because it is a new gun the lever is very tight so will be opening and closing the gun quite a few times each day to loosen it up.

I will post videos of me shooting it when the time comes.

I know its left handed and all, but since its not like wearing in the gold nib on a fountain pin, where a right handed shooter will break it in wrongly (something my southpaw father would throw fits about when he would catch me as a kid writing with one of his favorite pens)...I bet a couple of us would happily come down and help a fella out. I mean while you are laboring away moving, a couple of us could run a couple-few hundred rounds through each barrel set, get it all nice and smoothed out for you. Seems the least we could do for all the entertainment and photos through this thread.

You're a community servant. A real giver. Servant mentality. Always thinking of others. Eh?

Hey Tanks! One thing I would like to see the next time you take this beauty out is how the RMR is mounted, maybe a close up pic or two if you think of it. Enjoy!

I will be looking for a set of these when my .505 is done... sadly not cashed up right now for these. :(
Need anything in trade?
Cheers,

what kind of velocity does the 140 grains list, curious how they would fit in with my current 130 gr, supply of 270s. maybe a pic of the box data listing vel. and drop. Oh and complements on that ammo belt, nice.
