Hi all,
I was not sure if this info should better get posted under "Good Gun Deals This Week", because it is mostly for Canadians.
Also, considering the length of time until the stock gets resupplied would be more like "Good Gun Deals This Year".

CSC (Canada's Gun Shop) just received in stock several Rigby Big Game Rifles (3 - 416 Rigby, 2 - 404 Jeffrey; 1 - 375H&H) and some Rigby Highland Stalker (2 of them are 30-06 Take-Downs).

I'm already done shopping, so now I can spread the word around. Cheers.

Wow! Canadian to US today is at .72. That means the Rigby 404 is $11,800 US!!! Given I bought a gun from Canada and imported to US it is a pain at least my experience not so much money as time and paperwork.

Who did you use? Going the other way all I needed was the gun details (make, calibre, barrel length) typed into the importers/exporters website

Do you seriously think that Rigby is intentionally screwing over the largest gun buying market in the world?! Maybe look to see what tariffs your country has against the UK on gun imports.
 
If the Americans want some "Canadian" Rigbys iRunGuns.ca can help you.
I have used their import/export service to bring in some rifles from USA. It was not very dificult nor very expensive for their service. Around $200-$250 US.

Also, reviewing the new info posted on their website it seemes the Americans will have to pay some tarrifs that we do NOT pay. (Hence they do get ripped off by their own government).

I do not know though if CSC is allowed to sell them directly to USA clients - depending on their agreement with Rigby.

Also, I should mention that CSC usually has more inventory than they post online. It is advisable to inquire about it over the phone.

I do hope that some members of our tight community will get them and take them to Africa.

I advise anyone interested in purchasing a Rigby from Canada to be imported into the US to thoroughly investigate the costs and tariffs involved as they can be significant.

I imported a finnish pukko for a friend for christmas. $80 knife had $50 in import fees added. Id imagine it could be a very painful suprise for a 10-30k rifle
 
I’m looking at importing a couple doubles from Germany right now, ultimately leaned towards using Griffin & Howe for the importation, no more expensive than other importers charge, and trusted them re: subtle engraving in unnoticeable places vs some unknown services. Not saying they wouldn’t do a wonderful job, just that G&H have been importing for a couple generations and know how and where to tuck the required importation markings.

Hands down the biggest factor are the new tariffs. While they bounced all over the place in 2025, prohibitively high at times, as of January 1, they settled at 15% for firearms from much of the EU. If anyone is serious, reach out to Laurel at Griffin & Howe, she is their importation and regulatory compliance gal. She can advise the tariff rate for Canada as of Jan 1, which I am assuming is in play vs tariff rate for the UK or Germany. I mean we are talking about steal formed into precise barreled actions imported to the UK from Germany. Some of the finest finish and fitting work performed in the UK and imported to Canada. So as I sit here on a fine Friday with 2nd beer in hand…I am unclear which tarriff or rate applies. Just remember on top of the new 15% tarriff there is still the original 11% excise tax, so as consumers we are now essentially taxed twice for imported goods, but it’s to make things great again so we should be happy about it so I hear.

I think Ralf told people to use borderview. I know my father used them and it was a slow process

Yes, and when you do investigate that, it shows the differential market segment pricing that Rigby uses between the US and Canada of approximately $10,000

Can't someone drive to Canada as a US citizen and drive back with the gun? I have no idea, so excuse my dumb question.

I assume the 11% excise tax to which you refer is Pittman-Robertson? If so, as sportsman, not a lot we should be bitching about with that one.

You cannot. You need a PAL (Canadian gun license) to legally purchase firearms in Canada.
