Selling a like new Winchester M70 in .458 Win Mag. I bought this a few months ago from a fellow member here but ultimately have decided to part with this rifle and go a different direction. It came to me from the previous owner having only fired 4 rounds. He received it from the first owner with the barrel sticker still on it. I haven’t fired it at all so it’s likely it only has ever been shot 4 times.

This is one of Cabelas editions ( I didn’t care about that when I bought it either ) and the barrel is marked BACO Morgan Utah so was built here before they began doing them in Portugal.

Asking $2150 shipped from me as individual to your ffl with a copy of my drivers license in the box with the rifle. If you need and more pics or have questions let me know.

Very nice indeed

I have one just like it. They are the perfect candidate to adapt to shoot longer COAL and make it a 458 + to exceed the 458 Lott performance. Good luck with sale!

Was planning on buying a M70 safari express this fall, this hurts to see since I don't have the money yet lol. Would love this gun, whoever buys it is a lucky son of a gun.

Is this a crf rifle?
It is, you can see the claw extractor if you zoom in on a couple of the pictures.

Wish I had bought one when they came out but at this point I have no use for it other than to look at it and treasure it. And as a remembrance to the good old days of Cabela's being Cabela's and not part of the sporting goods Walmart.

If someone wants this they better buy it before it's sold;)

Rifle is sold pending funds locally.

Thanks for all the interest. If sale isn’t completed I’ll update this thread.

That is great news for your sale.
These Cabela's series M70 .458s, as I understand, are similar in build of barrel and stocks to the early Winchester .458 Win Mags.
Experts here please weigh in.

Cabela's Gonzales, Louisiana had one for their 50th anniversary, back when the Gun Library was good.
Damn nice rifle.

This rifle is much more svelte and ergonomic than the M70 Safari Express.
Congrats to the buyer and seller.

I remember that gun library in the good old days, when the store was still relatively new. It was a site to behold.

You are correct here. These versions are indeed svelte. Nice rifles.

Putting this back up. A coworker/acquaintance of mine wanted it so I held it for him for a while to get the funds together but life as we know it seemed to keep getting in the way for him. I finally told him I was going to keep it rather than hold them in that position, but I just don't have an immediate need for it and more importantly I'm saving for a Rigby Highland Stalker so here we go again.

As in the OP text it is $2150 shipped from me as an individual to your ffl Any questions just ask

It’s still looking for a home

@Est.1970 - Agree about the complete LACK of Quality in any Cabela’s these days - they will soon be selling Lawnmowers & Cannabis just to make a profit.

An excellent AH member right here! I had a fantastic transaction with Hornedfrogbbq (I was the seller). His communication was first rate, payment was extremely fast, and I would have absolutely no reservations at all dealing with him again. Thank you, F!
Here we are, the last day of the show in Denver, it's been a good show but expecting a quiet day today. I will be back for-sure to do this show next year and maybe also do the one in Sacramento California.

On Monday I will be hitting the road driving from Denver and eventually make it down to Atlanta for the flight home.

its going to be a good year!

Hi Rem280, Saw your post on getting selected for Idaho Elk. Do you have a zone(s) selected? I live in N Idaho, might be able to offer some ideas.

Cheers,

Craig
