Check Ebay frequently.

There are several Schoenauer magazines offered there at present, unfortunately none in 9.5X57 / .375 Nitro Express Rimless.

Yes, I gave some thought to buying the 1908 8x56 and taking a Drimmel tool to it, but I have joined the Mannlicher Collectors Society and will try there. I am waiting for my membership packet. I loaded up some 235 gr Speer with 55gr WW748. this is a 7lb rifle with a steel butt plate, off the bench it was brutal. I am going to get a slip-on recoil pad, hopefully that will take out some of the sting. I have managed to buy some Hornaday 270 gr round nose, but will wait for the recoil pad before trying them.

What do you have?

An M1910 with no magazine or one that malfunctions?

Those Hornady 3715 are nearly extinct now, that was a good find. You shouldn't need a recoil pad if you hold her tight to the shoulder. Part of the beauty of der Mannlicher Schoenauer is their 'pointability' and intuitive sight acquisition when brought to shoulder quickly as when stalking in brush or forest. Try her away from the bench or at least while standing next to it.

You may wish to peruse these threads for MS info: M1900... and / or visit the 'site **NOT**PERMITTED** 'dot com' as they have a dedicated Mannlicher forum attended by many knowledgeable members.

Load your cartridges to these precise dimensions (including profile of projectile or as close as you can get to it) and you should have no feeding problems with the Schoenauer magazine;

Hornady 3715 worked fine, as does Woodleigh's .375 270 RN when it can be found.
Hornady 3715 has been out of production for a decade now, Woodleigh's .375 270 RN are scarce and expensive.

I got a box of 50 3715s, cost me $15. I was looking for a 9, 9.3. or 9.5. I came across this 9.5 with a block of wood replacing the magazine, I made an absurdly low offer and it was accepted. The bore is in great shape. Head space is not a problem as I made brass from 30-06 and progressively set the shoulder back until the bolt required some effort to close. I did not do my do diligence on this rifle, because it has a full length stock I assumed it was a stutzen, it is not, it has a rifle length barrel. It has DST & steel trap door butt plate. I shoot full power loads in my pre WW1 8x57 Mauser sporters, so I am sure I will get use to it, I am not recoil sensitive. I could do with just the magazine spool for 9.5x57 as magazines are available on ebay I would only have to change the spool on the 1908 magazine.

You 'stole' that box of 3715. That was about the 'out the door' price in the late 1980s.

Mannlicher Schoenauers were available from Steyr with many special order options in the pre WW2 period.

Here are Stoeger's 1939 offerings - note the options at the lower portion of page 50, particularly "Full stock in rifle which normally have half stock".

Did you get your 1910 Mannlicher shooting? I have a couple of them.

I just returned from vacation. I was able to secure a 1910 magazine on eBay. It installed perfectly an functioned with dummy rounds loaded with Speer 235 gr & Hornaday 270 gr round nose. I hope to get to the range later this month. I hope to work up a load with WW748 ball powder as it meters so consistently thru a powder measure.

Great work on finding a magazine, I think that is awesome, I have two Mannlicher 1903 6.5X54 with no magazines one sporter & one Military Carbine !

I have wanted a 1910 for some time, strange one turned up just recently but it had been converted to 8X57 Mauser, the owner didn't believe me that 1910s were only in 9.5X57 .

You are, of course, correct. All M1910 MS were originally chambered for the 9.5X57MS proprietary cartridge (AKA .375 Nitro Express Rimless).

Watch Ebay for M1903 / Y1903 (6.5X54MS) magazines. There are usually a few up for bid at any given time.

My loads have done well with IMR4895.

I have no idea the shipping cost from here to Costa Rica. I can do my research on shipping and get back with you later today.

I didn't see your request re: ship co’s. My last shipment was 2023. Quotes from SBS Logistics ($1,198), Badger Cargo ($1,184 - used them) & AHG Trophy Shippers ($1,746). AHG owner's an asshole so wouldn't have used him anyway. Eastern Cape - Houston, TX, so your mileage may vary. NEVER use Karl Human Taxidermy aka Wild Africa Taxidermy on Eastern Cape. Trophies arrived shattered with no padding/packing material.
