2 years after my buffalo hunt, and adding another hunt into the mix in October 2016, the crate is finally home in NC via Turkey!! A few misunderstandings and leaving a few things out of the crate, it was repacked with all appropriate permits and paperwork and finally on its way.

I'll post a few pics later but here is the preview...

Very nice! Thanks for showing the actual crate, I know it's strange but I love seeing it from unpacking to hanging! Was Coppersmith pretty reasonable and easy to work with? I'm thinking of hiring them for when our trophies are ready to come home.

Congrats my friend!

More pics of the process on the way!

Coppersmith is good to work with, have used them 3 times now no problems, good communications, etc!

When my trophies came back from the first trip to Namibia the truck driver asked if he could help me or watch me open the crate! He had delivered several crates of trophies but never seen the contents. He loved seeing the horns!

Congratulations on your trophies!

I am sure your happy to get them home. Happy for you my friend

Congratulations! Can imagine the feeling and excitement....
Thanks for sharing it with us.

Wow, it's amazing that all of that fit in that crate!! Those are some great trophies, thank you again for showing the "from crate to home" pics! I talked to Coppersmith already today, the price seems very reasonable for everything you get though I'm going to have to use them as a shipping service as well because the nearest port of entry is over 9 hours away.

I can sympathize with that driver! Hope it sparked the "Africa" fire in him!

Try being in Alaska. It seems like they will be imported then have to be put on a boat to anchorage then trucked to Fairbanks.. I just hope it doesn't cost me as much as the shipping is coming from SA but it wouldn't surprise me, seems like everything up here has an Alaska price.

Well sure, but I've heard those boats to Anchorage only take 14k gold as fuel and the truck tires are made of pure platinum!! :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Well a long awaited crate makes for a happy day! But unfortunately all is not 100%

All in total from 2 safaris:
Buff -skull and cape
2 Blesbok - skulls and 1 cape, 1 rug
Zebra - rug
Warthog - skull
Baboon -skull
Gemsbok - skull, cape, backskin
Waterbok -skull and cape
Nyala - skull, cape
Cow eland -skull and rug
Springbok -skul and cape
Black Wildebeest -skull

*Missing are my nyala horns and the skull is toast. I'll take it up with the taxidermist who has a good reputation of making things right, still unfortunate.

*Also question for you guys who have recently imported trophies( at least un-mounted ones) All the horns have holes drilled in them to put the ID tags with them. Anyone else experience this recently? See some of the pics to look at the tips of horns.

Thanks for any feedback!

Congrats buddy. Glad their finally home. Enjoy the memories.

Nice looking trophies. I should be getting some in August or September.
