I was wondering if any of the forum members had watched CNN news tonight. I usually don’t watch it but once in a while I tune in just to see what they’re saying about Trump. However, tonight they had Jack Hannah on there that animal trainer and they ask him what he thought of big game hunting in Africa . I have never been to Africa .....yet. They didn’t interview him very long but the short time he was on there he really put hunting down. He stated that the people get nothing out of hunting, he said there are millions of dollars spent on hunting big game and the people get literally nothing . I’m going to make this short but without the Safari dollars a lot of these animals would be extinct and I don’t know how a man like him who supposedly knows as much about African animals as he does would make a statement like he did on there. I used to watch him once in a while when he was on TV But that is the last time I’ll ever watch him. He is one of the real anti-hunting fanatics.

That's disappointing but not too surprising I guess.:(

Not I.
Educate me on who this Muppet is?

He was on that mutual of Omaha wild kingdom at one time ,He trains animals different kinds of animals. Supposed to be in authority on all animals, even the African variety.

I once thought he was a good guy and that he was interesting to watch but after hearing that I’ll never watch that POS

Supposedly saved the Columbus zoo.......somehow ended up getting a TV show and ended up doing spots on the tonight show. Was the "authority" several years back when some idiot who owned a bunch of exotic animals (in Ohio) turned them loose an they had to be shot by LEO's for public safety.........hawks various pet products. Had his face plastered all over the news when Harambe was shot at the Cinncinati zoo a few years ago. Not at all surprised that he knows nothing about how hunting works.....but then again, maybe he does and he's just trying to protect his pocket book by pandering the Peta freaks.......

Just checked out Royal27's link.......found this little tidbit interesting:

"Although unable to secure zoning as a zoo for his father's farm, Hanna and Suzi opened a pet shop and petting zoo. In 1973, a three-year-old boy was mauled by a lion at Hanna's farm and lost his arm.[1] Hanna settled the subsequent lawsuit out of court, shut down the petting zoo, and moved his family to Florida"

.......so this clown is against private citizens keeping exotic pets......yet he had one and it mauled some kid! Brilliant!! He never mentioned THAT little fact when they interviewed him at the time LEO's were shooting lions, tigers and bears in Ohio! What a hypocrite!

Jack Hanna has been on TV for a long time. Mostly zoo stuff that inevitably spills over into wild agendas. He is appealing to kids and antis and the no info nons (most of the population) so TV uses his shtick complete with proper attire and outfitted cruisers when in the field. He's full of crp- a real light weight who passes himself off as an expert.

Watch Saturday Night Live and look for a clip about "I'm Brian Fellows" Absolutely spot on about him.

That is not at all what he said. He was very positive about hunting. I was on right after him. I’ll see if I can post the video of Jack.

I agree.

Especially when you consider who his constituency is that was extremely positive. Interesting. I really thought he was anti hunting, but in that clip he sure seems honest and open.

Sounds like personally he is against doing it but understood the balance. Someone needs to do it just not him and to me that’s ok. That’s what I got from it anyway.

And what we need if true. BOTH sides working together for a common goal.

OOOPS. Got everybody talking.

Love your rifle! I'm needing a heavier rifle for Africa. Sold my .375 Dakota Safari several trips ago. Would you have any interest in a trade of some sort involving the custom 338/06 I have listed here on the site ( I have some room on my asking price. I also have a large quantity of the reloading components and new Redding dies as well as a box of A-Square Dead Tough ammo.
