Where are you going in 2025 thread

My family is considering another SA trip. My son and his girlfriend have never been and are beginning to inquire when "dad is going to Africa again." Or maybe Croatia.

What's on your agenda for 2025?

No Africa plans...yet.

Getting married next year, so somewhere warm and tropical most likely in October.
Also going out west to some national parks in the spring an summer. Hoping to get to Africa or Europe mid to late summer for a hunt/sightseeing trip with the bride to be!

I am returning to Africa again in September, 2025. I have been fortunate enough to have hunted plains game in both Namibia and South Africa, with some truly excellent professionals. This time around, the focus will be Buffalo for me. I have really enjoyed the planning process so far, from finding an outfitter, to sourcing the appropriate firearm for the job. It will be a little different for me this time, as I will be joined by a friend, for his first ever African adventure. Plains game for him, and man, he is excited!
We will be hunting with Mpeti Safaris, in KwaZulu-Natal. They border on the Pongola Reserve, and from what the people I have spoken to regarding Mpeti have said, I am in for a very fun time!

Almost the New Year. Have fun at the upcoming conventions, if you plan to attend.

My scheduled hunt plans for 2025 so far - Alaska Dall Sheep, Brooks Range, guided, rifle,10 day backpack hunt, August 2025. (2nd attempt for a Dall Sheep). Previous hunt was in August 2020.

Can't wait. Training continues. 237 days, 11 hours, and 49 minutes out...but who is counting.

New Zealand to hunt with Jim @NEW ZEALAND SAFARIS in April... then off to South Africa in September to do a PH course with several other AH members @Bos en Dal SAFARIS.. Im sure we'll do a little hunting while we are there as well...

we MIGHT also plan a short side trip to the Eastern Cape either right before or right after we visit Bos en Dal.. there is a school and orphanage there that my wife and I have done some fundraising for that we'd like to visit.. Assuming we do go to the EC, I'd guess we'll try to find a way to get in a short hunt somewhere around there as well to add to the fun...

Spending most of July visiting friends and family in Philippines. Cold San Miguel on a quiet beach. Spending some important time with our 3-year-old stray rugrat.

August in SW Alaska. C&R some rainbows, silvers and char.

SCI in Nashville for 4 days later this month
Alberta for a free range bison hunt in Feb
Namibia in March with my mother for a few days of touring and a week of plains game hunting
Hoping to book another buffalo hunt at SCI with my girlfriend as an observer
Possibly a Michigan black bear hunt in Sept if the stars align
Montana in Sept and again in Nov if needed for elk and deer
And possibly another end of year special offer hunt to Zim for tuskless and buff if a great offer shows up

Whew!! That's a lot busier schedule than I realized once it's all written out. LOL

I’m headed back to SA in June for a hippo. I literally ran out of time hippo hunting last trip. We only had 1 1/2 days due to running around SA from Winnie Mandela to Lephalele, to Phalaborwa. I think I spent more time on the road than I did in the bush! I literally had to stand in the bush naked, on my hunting clothes, wiping down with baby wipes only to head immediately to the airport to fly home! I don’t think I will go to Atlanta DSC this year or the SCI show in Nashville even though I’m only 45 minutes away from there. I am wanting to try to squeeze in a black bear hunt in Montana this fall though but we shall see!

My dad enjoyed our trip to South Africa back in April quite a lot so we're going to Zimbabwe and Namibia in June. It'll mainly be a tourist trip to look at the Victoria Falls etc but we'll also hunt a couple days with @KHOMAS HIGHLAND HUNTING SAFARIS . I'm not quite sure what I'll try to shoot yet but a gemsbok, steinbok or a nice warthog would be fun. And also some more long range baboons of course.

I'm also in the early stages of convincing some friends to go with me to @Tally-Ho HUNTING SAFARIS in 2026 again which would be incredibly fun and I'd really love to shoot a buffalo if I manage to go back.

I'm also really looking forward to go home to the south of Sweden for the roebuck stalking season in May/June and August where I'm very excited to finally get to use the 223 I waited for to be built for almost exactly a year.

No Africa this year, back in 2026. Starting 2025 off with a West Texas Aoudad trip next month, then back to Manitoba for my semi-annual black bear trip, and then who knows. Never know what might get booked at SCI, but will probably keep it simple this year. I'm really pumped for TX, and I love bears so my year is good already.

I thought Alberta recently canned their bison hunt after only briefly bringing it back? Unless there is another herd besides the Hay Zama.
