Hello AH.

I have a rather amateurish question, sorry for my ignorance.

When you talk about a 100lb elephant, I assume that means the weight of the tusks. But are we talking about 100lbs for both tusks or 50lbs each or 100lbs per tusk or 200lbs for both?

Again, sorry for the ignorance.

Historically, it is the weight of ONE tusk meeting the 100lb weight.

Rowland Ward: Elephant are Ranked on the weight of the heaviest tusk.
Rowland Ward Minimum score is now 80lbs.

SCI:
Total Weight of BOTH tusks
SCI Minimum 90lbs

Yes a 100 lb elephant would be 200 lbs. total

@reedy0312 incorrect, 100lbs could be 150lbs total. Just one tusk needs to weigh over 100lbs, the other tusk could be broken, still classed as a 100 pounder.

Hi Brickburn,
I belive Rolwand Ward recorded always 80 lbs. up,when I 'm looking on their list at the dates.

By the way, the "father of all good hunters" in Africa,F.C Selous, shot in 25 years 106 elephants and not one 100 pounder.
In 1896 he bought a farm in England ,Surrey ,called Heatherside.
Does anyone has a picture from his English estate ?
By pure chance
Below the picture short after his dead.Killed in action at Beho Beho/Tansania.
Apologize that Im off topic with that.

Regards
Foxi

I'm unfortunately on a diet. Presently in VA hospital as Agent Orange finally caught up with me. Cancer and I no longer can speak. If all goes well I'll be out of here and back home in Thailand by end of July. Tough road but I'm a tough old guy. I'll make it that hunt.

Business is the only way to fly. I'm headed to SA August 25. I'm hoping that business isn't an arm and a leg. If you don't mind, what airline and the cost for your trip. Mine will be convoluted. I'll be flying into the states to pick up my 416 Rigby as Thailand doesn't allow firearms (pay no attention to the daily shootings and killings) so I'll have 2 very long trips.
