Videographers - your thoughts

I talked to several and I used Bush Bro Productions and I was very pleased with the outcome,
I was hesitatant at first as knowing absolutely nothing on the subject I found just ask questions.
I chose them cause I wanted all the footage that they recorded when they were done and Henk Jacobs (owner) said its your footage , everyone else said NO. If i remember it cost like $2300 for 7 days and they gave me all footage before I left only had to bring SD card and he downloaded it for me. That included his flight to PE and back as they were out of Limpopo I believe.
Bush Bro has a facebook page and they were recommended to me and I would use them again if I decide to we had a young chap that was PH Pieter Grober was our camera man very delightful young guy and I still keep in touch with him on social media.

Henk filmed our first safari and his brother Riaan was our PH. Great hunt and great video. I think it was worth the expense. Heno served as another set of eyes looking for animals and was great fun to hang out with.

I am planning my third trip over for 2021. I have been reading this thread and had thought about having this next 21 day trip filmed before this thread started. I thought about all the positives and negatives, have quotes from from 4 companies. I have decided against having it filmed. For the cost of it for 21 days I can shoot a lot more animals or pay a big chunk of dip/pack/taxidermy. I decided just want me, PH and camp staff in camp for the entire hunt. Where I am hunting they dont mix groups so I will have camp to myself the entire time.
Just out of curiosity, would you provide the price range between the lowest and highest quote you received? You don’t have to share names of the companies that you quoted, but it would be nice to see some prices from someone who has already thought about this subject.

I found as low as $80 per day up to $450 per day plus transportation charges to and from where you are hunting and what ever day rate your outfitter will charge for them. Them editing from $30 per day to $1000 flat rate. This adds up real fast.

My resentment: a cameraman is one more person in the column, one more chance to make more noise, one more chance to scare an animal away when approaching, an additional obstacle if you are with a wounded DG.
The best memories are the ones we have in our heads.
Just my two cents.

I’m not a person that likes my picture taken so I wouldn’t want a video made of any of my activities.

Now this is more of the reply that I expected and understand. The only thing I disagree with is the memories in your head. I am going on my first trip to Africa when I am 31 (hopefully the first of very many). Having good video in my opinion is worth far more than pictures. I just don’t know if I can justify the cost and potential for a cameraman ruining the hunt.

I am righthanded, so not interested in the rifle, but I have a 375 RUM and 350 gr bullet loading data is very hard to come by. If you could reply with information regarding your loads I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you, Ray Boone, Leavenworth, WA

An excellent AH member right here! I had a fantastic transaction with Hornedfrogbbq (I was the seller). His communication was first rate, payment was extremely fast, and I would have absolutely no reservations at all dealing with him again. Thank you, F!
