How long before airlines revise policies.....I'm wheels up Friday to Joberg...any hope I can leave the face diaper at home?

I would take one even if you don't wear it

While regulations are changing they can also go the other direction just as fast

Well, we're S out of luck...United just came out and said they will continue to enforce the mandate. Gotta love a CEO who lobbies to have the mandate lifted, then continues to enforce it onces its been found unlawful.

Wow... Im really surprised to hear that...

United, Delta, Southwest, American... all of their CEO's just signed a letter less than 2 weeks ago petitioning the white house to end the mandate... stating that there was no science to support the requirement and also citing all of the passenger problems they are dealing with as a result of it (more than 70% of all "unruly passenger" issues on US carriers involve a mask in some way (either a customer not wearing one.. or another customer complaining about someone not wearing one while eating.. or other BS that ends up with verbal or physical conflict)..

You'd think United would have jumped right on to this opportunity..

Its got to make you wonder who in the Fed Govt called the airlines and "warned" them to remain "compliant" with the FAA and CDC requirements after a federal judge told them they didnt have to..

that said... I suppose its entirely possible the United CEO is just being overly cautious.. and is waiting on the Fed Govt to confirm/deny that it is going to appeal, or that it isnt going to make another/different move to force masks.. before he says "dont wear them".. only to be followed by "please wear them" next week when POTUS pulls an ace from his sleeve of some sort..

but.. IMO.. thats a pretty chicken shit move... and yet another reason I abhor United..

Actual judgement?

Isn’t United one of the first/biggest airline to brag about firing their unvaccinated employees? Maybe I’m confusing them with another airline, but I don’t see why an employer so eager to fire its employees would jump at a chance to end masks.

I read about the ruling earlier today. Without a doubt the Whitehouse rats are all frothing at the mouth right about now.
Hope it all goes through and we can do away with the face diaper.

We leave tomorrow for Barcelona on Delta.

I can not believe any American airline will defy the will of a sitting President, regardless the ruling of a single judge. Really bad politics. The administration will of course appeal.

Flew back from Buenos Aires a week ago. Three quarters of the passengers had the damned things hanging from an ear for most of the flight. The vast majority of us are over this. If the administration had a tiny bit of political sense, they would jump out ahead of this parade - not resist it. Fortunately, for the sake of the mid-terms, they clearly do not.

United lost the case in the 5th Circuit.

Perhaps this will help lower the addiction rate.

Have a great trip.

Are more ibex on the itinerary?

It just went official TSA will no longer be enforcing masks on plane or in terminal. It will be nice not to have to wear a mask for 15 1/2 hrs on my trip over to JNB in next couple weeks.

When is a couple of weeks? Headed there too!

Joe will probably appeal and get the ruling stayed for review by higher court. I wouldnt get too excited just yet.

At Kalahari Safari, the Small Things Are the Big Things
The thrill of the stalk. The stillness of the wait. The age-old rhythm of the hunt.
It’s not just about the size of the trophy. It’s about the stories that will be told for years.
We believe the memories are the true prize. The small things are the big things.
And we’re proud to offer a hunting experience that honours exactly that.

Not sure your price range. Have a 375 H&H with a muzzle brake. Nice rifle only fired a few times. Also a Mossberg 375 Ruger its been used and shows a few hunts on it.
Two African Safaris Hunted South Africa both times,
9 game animals taken
