The Rat is back in Texas

How do you like the Boyd's? Thinking about getting one for my LH Zastava.
It’s so much better than the old Ruger stock and makes the rig a pleasure to shoot, I’m well pleased.

Did you have to do anything other than drop it into the new stock?

Heck of a deer, congrats!!!

Nice deer.

I had to add a small shim on the right side to keep the trigger pin from backing out . Accomplished this by cutting a short section of paint stirring stick and super glueing it place. The fit was good and the barrel was already free floated.

Finally getting around to updating this thread. Here is a pick of the Kill light I mounted above my feeder for shooting nocturnal hogs.

Opening day of whitetail varmint control. Was grunting at a wide mature 8 point opening morning to see how he would react. He was getting madder at each grunt, stomping the ground and heading towards the stand. On the third grunt he whirled around and took off, something told me to look behind the blind and a coyote had responded to the call as well. He went down to my 204 Ruger and an hour later the three cats were taken as well between me and one of the boys.

Big sow taken under the feeder light early November with the old M77 30-06.

Traded for a Ruger #1 in 7X57 back before Christmas and got a chance to break it in on a big boar a few weeks ago right before dark from my bow stand.

And last weekend I took this sow with my Ruger African 275 Rigby. Need to switch back to the crossbow and go to stealth mode. Bucks are forming bachelor herds and I want to keep things quiet by the protein feeder for the rest of the growing season.

NICE! What a fun time!

PS , I do hunt the coastal flats with other rifles too - .405 WCF DR: just west of Corpus.
That looks like the same field you shot that goat in per a previous thread/post ! Ha! Ha! Ha! Wait a minute, that is the goat! Shot with your double Savage .250-3000! Just kidding. Nice red deer cow! Have to have some fun here on AH now and again!

I have no idea the shipping cost from here to Costa Rica. I can do my research on shipping and get back with you later today.

I didn't see your request re: ship co’s. My last shipment was 2023. Quotes from SBS Logistics ($1,198), Badger Cargo ($1,184 - used them) & AHG Trophy Shippers ($1,746). AHG owner's an asshole so wouldn't have used him anyway. Eastern Cape - Houston, TX, so your mileage may vary. NEVER use Karl Human Taxidermy aka Wild Africa Taxidermy on Eastern Cape. Trophies arrived shattered with no padding/packing material.
