I love flea markets and consignment shops, so does my wife. She spots stuff and I do the bargaining if I think it’s worth the stretch.

So, she spots this piece in the corner of this overcrowded junk shop on top of the coin case:

I thought it was cool. My wife loves bronze sculptures. The tusks are ivory. I asked to test them. The owner and I couldn’t reach a deal.

Just something really neat. All I could think of was “There’s only one guy that maybe, might have, come close to witnessing something like this that wasn’t in a bronze statuette.”

I asked the owner to hot needle the tusk to see if it made a black charcoal mark near the bronze and not melt through.
