I got this rifle from an old gunsmith, he said it was for a M98, but it doesn’t match the ones I have in hand. Does anyone have an idea what rifle this would fit? The silver one is the one in question

And by rifle; I mean trigger

Looks pretty identical to the trigger on a Heym 720BEHM that I inherited, albeit mine is not labeled (but I'm almost certain it is a Timney). This rifle is based on a commercial Mauser 98 design, so your gunsmith friend is probably right about what it fits.

I wasn’t sure because of the different seer shapes

Trying to be a bridge between Eastern and Western schools of conservation.

Nugget here. A guide gave me the nickname as I looked similar to Nugent at the time. Hunting for over 50 years yet I am new to hunting in another country and its inherent game species. I plan to do archery. I have not yet ruled out the long iron as a tag-along for a stalk. I am still deciding on a short list of game. Not a marksman but better than average with powder and string.
